Christmastime is (was) here.

I loved having a sweet newborn at Christmastime, but it did make me forget it was Christmastime some days.  We watched a LOT of Christmas movies because I was and am more than content with being home.  And because we live with Jaggar, the Christmas kid.  I told Travis, "I can't believe it's Christmas again."  He said, "Julie, it's never NOT Christmas in our house.  We watch Christmas movies from February on.  The rest of the world is just celebrating with us now."  Ha, true.  So one of the things I needed to do was get a snapshot of Costner for his "My First Christmas" ornament that Mema got him.  Sage and Jaggar have similar photo ornaments.

So I started taking these, and I just LOVE this.  That little hand waving.
Such a sweet angel.  I think this is the one that I used for the ornament.

Resting on Daddy one night.  He is awake, but that's how he is.  Just happy.
Sage didn't get out of school until the 21st, and I was so glad when she finally did.  Having a newborn and making sure we are up and ready for school is tough.  I had help, but it was nice to get a break not long after Costner was born.  Sage wanted Costner's picture with the elves.  OH...something the elves did do--the morning of Costner's birthday, I was already in the hospital being induced.  But when the kids woke up, the elves had one of Costner's blankets wrapped up with a note that said, "We heard you are having a brother today.  We got a new sister!"  Inside the blanket was Caroline, our newest blonde elf friend.  So, we have THREE elves now.  Sage was thrilled.
 My 3 babies

I think this was second day of Christmas break, and on this day, Costner's cord came off.
His belly button looked really weird after it came off.  It doesn't look like this picture anymore.  At one point prior, I almost ripped his cord off.  It was bloody, and it made me sick.  His doctor assured me that it was fine and was meant to come off.  I mentioned to Mom the day it came off that it looked like an outie, and she said that when people or babies, maybe, had hernias they'd tape them down, so maybe I could tape it.  I said, "Mom, it's not a hernia.  If he has an outie, he has an outie."
On the Saturday before Christmas, just 3 days before actually, I decided to go to Target and do some last minute shopping with the baby.  I don't know why because that place was insane.  I didn't know that many people lived here.  But I got some things that I needed to finish up, and baby was great.
The next day, Sunday, was our Christmas service, and even though I hadn't attended any rehearsals, I came to sing with the choir.  I knew I wasn't putting Costner in the nursery at this point, so I took Sage with me and let her stay in the back.with him since we were only singing 2 songs.  There were lots of people back there, and one of my friends, Sondra, held him because I wasn't going to make a 7 year old entirely responsible.  I was glad we went because Mitch was in town and he got to meet Costner after the first service.
And so did Heather...before Luke snatched him away from her.

Costner was a big hit at church and was so good and loved being held by some new people.   I love this picture because he looks like he's smiling.
