When I was in labor, our neighbor, who is also a friend texted Travis. Her daughter, Emily, babysits for me, and my kids wouldn't care if I went on an 8 month sabbatical as long as she was there. Her mom, Samantha, texted Travis saying that Emily wanted to do something for us when the baby was born. Her aunt owns a pottery place, and she wanted to do Costner's and the bigger kids' feet and hand prints. Feet for baby, hands for bigger kids. Well, he wasn't born until later that afternoon, so Emily texted me two days after we got home, which was Sunday. Funny things is, I didn't know she texted me. Sage just came upstairs and said, "Emily's here!" I was like, "Hey! Come on in." I said, "Did you text me? Because Sage was playing with my phone." It didn't matter either way, I was just letting her know that's why I didn't respond. She said, "Oh, well I texted you asking if it was okay to stop by and the response said, "Yes, you may." SAGE. We both cracked up.
She held Costner for a bit and then got the paint and pottery pieces out of the car.
Costner hated it.
Then he was fine.
I don't have the final product back yet, but Sage and Jaggar did hand prints. We did Jaggar's about 20 times, but it kept messing up and smudging. Finally he said, "I want to do it myself." We let him, and it was perfect. Go fig.
