Who said it couldn't be fun?

I have to admit that I was having a really hard time with the fact that I was having a boy. I didn't like ANYTHING: the clothes, the decor, the names...none of it. I was getting very discouraged...until I started to try. The more I looked, the more fun I started to have. Here's a picture of a few of my fun finds. Most are bigger sizes, but they go into them SO fast. Look at those jeans! Travis loves them and wanted to find some like that for himself. "My Mom Rocks" because...well, fact. Guitars because he's sure to be a John Mayer fan. Cute, cute! And look at that coat!

Below them is another great find: an area rug that matches his bedding from Pottery Barn. It was a $400 rug that I got for $150. VERY excited about that. So, I think this little guy is going to be more fun than I ever could have thought. :)

23 weeks

I am 23 weeks today and moving right along! I can't say that I personally notice anything significantly different in today and 3 weeks ago...other than the strength of his kicks. They are strong!I had to post one from the front in this top. Chrissie tried one on like this when she was pregnant, and I loved it. Unfortunately, I wasn't pregnant. I really can't say that I've struggled with getting pregnant (because I personally know people that have been trying for years), but in comparison to having Sage, I did. It was frustrating and heartbreaking each time that it didn't happen. During that time, Chrissie met me at Sips N Strokes with a piece of Godiva cheesecake and this top in a gift bag with a note saying that it would happen when the time was right and not to give up. I was pregnant the next month. Thanks, Chrissie. Love you.

Saturday Surprise

This morning, Travis had a house to look at and he took Sage with him. Why? Because they had horses, and they were more than willing to let Sage see. It's funny, the one in the pictures actually looks like the one she got for Christmas.

Ha, look at him stretching!

Appropriate

We found a shirt last night at Target that was MADE for Mayer. Fortunately and unfortunately, it was waaaay too small. The fortunate side of that was because it was hilarious. He was rolling around in the floor trying to get it off. No worries, PETA fans, we took it off of him just a few minutes later.

Is that Hannah Montana?!

Nope, it's just Sage, but she LOVES her Hannah Montana wig that she got from Harrison and Isacah for her birthday. She'll say, "Mommy! My hair grew!"

Change is coming

Last night we totally stripped our guest room of everything that was in it. Years ago, I chose this green color to use one day for another boy or girl. I loved it at the time, and I can say that I still do. BUT once we found out that this baby was definitely a boy, all bedding that was for boys just did NOT go. I wanted a nice tan color that would go with anything and everything in the future. So reluctantly, Travis finally gave in and painted it. I think it turned out very nicely.

Before
After
In other updates, I went for my 20 week appointment, even though I was almost 22 weeks, and all is well. They did the ultrasound, and he is still a he. You could see his mouth moving already. Definitely my child. :)
The day before that, Sage had her 4 year checkup! This was rough because she got FOUR shots. She did REALLY well though...at milking it for everything it was worth. She couldn't walk without a limp the rest of the night and even at times during the next day. She's going to win an academy award one day. She weighed 30 lbs and was 39 inches tall. That's 2 1/2 pounds more than last year and 2 inches taller. The dr said she could sit in a booster seat when she's 40 lbs, so maybe when she's 8, we'll be doing that.

Sage's FOURTH Birthday Party

It pains me to say it, but my little girl will be 4 on the 20th. This year, she had been saying for weeks in regards to her birthday, "I want a pool party, and I want everyone to come." I said, "A pool party? Honey, your birthday is in January!" But because HARRISON, whose birthday is in July, had a pool party, SAGE wanted a pool party. So, a pool party is what she got. This, by the way, was the first year she had a big party. She's always been so shy that I thought it really wouldn't be her thing, but we've always made her birthdays special.

Oh, and the theme? I showed her Hannah Montana, Hello Kitty, Blues Clues...no, she saw a Hunting Cake in the Wal-Mart book with a deer on it and said, "I want a RUDOLPH cake." Greeeattt. But hey, if I could do a pool party in January, I was going to give her a rudolph party after Christmas. She not only wanted Rudolph; she requested Clarice as well. A friend of mine recommended someone to me that did a fantastic job. I found Christmas stuff at the party store on clearance and found a rudolph sign, red and green bouncy balls (for the party bags), red snowflake cups, red snowflake napkins and we had a dozen red balloons. She had the best Rudolph pool party she could have wanted.

I reserved the Y and sent out invitations to her friends, and they all came. I had been telling Sage for a few days now that when people come to her party, she has to talk to them all. She is so smart, articulate and funny, but for some reason, when she gets around people, she clams up. But I told her, "You have to say thank you. You can't be shy around your guests." And she'd say ok. But I really didn't know how she'd do. She usually whispers to me what she is supposed to say to someone else. But when she opened each gift, she looked that child in the face and said, "Thank you, Isabella. Thank you, Harrison." I could have cried! It was SO big for her. We praised her so much for that. Okay, I guess I'm done narrating for now. There are a lot of pics, but it was a special day.

Her awesome cake
Oh yeah, I found a light up nose for her. :) Adorable.
Looking at her cake before her friends arrived.
She opened her gift from my Mema before we left, and it was this outfit and another top. She said she looked like Hannah Montana.

Look at that baby. She asked me how old she'd be next year, and I said that I didn't want to talk about it.
Then Sage decided to fix my hair.
And Isacah came to help.
And I let them all.
Getting ready to sing...
She got a little shy when they started to sing Happy Birthday.
Blow out the candles...with a little help from Isacah.
She blew out all four.

Present time...and though it was difficult, I did NOT even put half of these up.

All the kids gathered around to see, and a Hannah Montana headset was very coveted.
Thanks, Karlita. Sage loves babies!
She made that! Impressed? I am.

Okay, I have to narrate again. For WEEKS, since Christmas actually, Sage has been asking for a scooter. She's really pressed it this week, "Mommy, are you going to get me that scooter? Mommy, did you go get me the scooter yet? I want a scooter." Even today, when we were loading the car, she saw some presents on the table and was disappointed because none of them appeared to be big enough to be the scooter. So, I gave her a present from Travis and I that was 2 dresses . I said, "This is from me and daddy." And she looked at me like she was sad because it was NOT what she had asked for. So she opened more, and last but not least, I handed this to her and said, "One more from Daddy and me." Look at that face.
They're a little blurry, but I just love her expressions.
Maybe I can open it better from the floor?
