Christmas Eve

The day that we had been counting down to finally arrived: Christmas Eve. This was our countdown calendar that we had been counting down since December 1st. The day finally came for her to take the SANTA off, which was what she'd been looking forward to because he was coming that night! On a sidenote: she did ask me why there wasn't a baby Jesus on there. I was VERY proud of her for that. She knows what Christmas is about.

One more day...
That night, Travis's mom and step-dad were coming over for dinner. Travis did all the cooking. Shocking, I know, that I didn't help. HE REALLY doesn't want me to! His mom had sent that apron over with Tim that morning along with some food, and I had to take his picture in it. I don't have a picture, but all of the food was excellent. Good work, as usual, Travis.
Exchanging gifts that night.
I know her face is solemn, but she gets like that in front of...anyone but me, Travis, my mom, my grandmother and Harrison. I don't know why. She goes to school 3 days a week...what am I going to do? ANYWAY, Tim chose the most thoughtful gift for her: a karaoke machine! She LOVES it. That's MY girl.
Eletha and Tim
She got a jump rope, and she's wanted one for quite a while!
Candy is always a fave.
Only she and I were allowed to be in the room to sing. They were watching and laughing from around the corner though.
She dances too.
Before we went to bed, Daddy read the Christmas story. She paid very close attention.

Christmas Morning

Well, I think this was the most exciting Christmas morning that we've all had yet. Sage REALLY got it this year. It took her 2 hours to go to sleep because she kept screaming, "Did he come yet? Is Santa here yet?" Telling her that he wouldn't come until she went to sleep didn't seem to do any good, but she finally went to sleep....after about 2 hours. For all of her other Christmases, she has slept LATE on Christmas morning, but not this one. I heard her moving a little after 6. Then she yelled, "DADDY! Did he come?" I couldn't wait to see her face.

All that Santa left her...Waiting at the gate to come see.
You'll have to maximize this picture, but her face is just adorable.
There's a better one as she's running to get a closer look.
She was thrilled with each and every thing that she opened. Nothing was tossed aside as if she didn't care. She was genuinely excited about everything, which made us happy too.
Look at that face.
Her elf left her a kiss goodbye.

Look at the mess!
THIS was a big thing. She put roller skates on her list at the very last minute, but Santa came through. She was thrilled.
Look how cute!
Her little doll that she specifically requested. Isn't she pretty?
She has wanted one of these lambs for over a year. Look at her face.
This is what she chose to sleep with that night.
This is my pink hairdryer. Travis wanted to know one more thing that he could get for me from Sage. I took her to the mall, found this, and told her, "You bring Daddy in here and tell him THIS is the one I want." There were 3 others. One night the 2 of them went shopping, and as soon as she was alone with me she whispered, "I showed Daddy that pink hairdryer you wanted, and he bought it. DON'T tell him!" I was laughing so hard that I cried because the moment he walked in the room to see what I was laughing at, she put her hand over my mouth and wouldn't let me speak. I told him, and he got kind of mad, but I said, "Don't you DARE take that back! She was so proud of herself." Even on Christmas day, she acted like she never told me. She said, "I told Daddy that's the one you wanted." And it was.
She LOVES Britney Spears. Womanizer, womanizer...hahaha. It's actually one of MY gifts, but she was excited about it.
A pink coach purse for me.
Daddy saying thank you for his grill set.
And all of us together.
At the end of the day, after watching "A Christmas Story" over and over, playing with her toys and eating endless amounts of candy, we headed over to Travis's dad's. This was what happened in the backseat in the first 5 minutes of the drive. That night when we put her to bed, she said, "I had a wonderful Christmas." And she did. We all did.

A Surprise for Me

When I was opening my gifts from Travis and Sage, Travis told me, "There's 2 left. Which one do you want?" I really didn't care, so he gave me one. It was a set of 4 martini glasses, which were really pretty. The other was a vanity seat. My face is in the first picture is pretty much what I thought about it. He said, "I thought you could use it getting ready, you know." I'm like, "Yeaaah..." thinking, "Where in the world am I going to put that? It doesn't match anything." So I set it aside and started helping Sage with her things. Then Travis said, "If you want to open that chair, I can put it together really fast." I was like "Um, that's okay. I'm helping her right now. It can wait." So I wrestled with more toys that are ridiculously packaged. Then he said, "The cushion is really soft if you want to feel it." Then I looked at him and he was smiling. I said, "Wait, is that not what's in there?" He laughed. I wanted a throw from TJ Maxx, so I thought maybe that was it. The following pictures are what took place after that.

You can see the chair on the box...which is why I wasn't so impressed.Hmm, I don't see my blanket in here.
Cords...USB cords?
"Is this a big digital picture frame?" Those were my exact words. Travis is laughing.
Hmm...maybe not a frame. I still had NO clue, which is really odd for me.
This is a TERRIBLE picture, but that was my face. I FINALLY got it. A pink laptop. I spotted it at Best Buy back in the summer, and he got it. I was literally completely shocked. That is one of many times he's done that for me this year. For those who may not know, my "surprise" last year was a microwave for Christmas that should have been replaced 3 months before Christmas...not bought as a gift for me. BUT that is no longer hanging over his head because he totally outdid himself this year.
Very, very cool

One Last Surprise from Santa

When we were done opening gifts, there was a letter to Sage from Santa on the coffee table by the plate of missing cookies and carrots.Off came the skates as she went running to see what it could be.

Woah
Just what she wanted!
It's pretty amazing. It neighs. It whinnies. It sniffs. It eats a carrot. It turns its head when you talk to it. It blinks its eyes, wags its tail, wiggles its ears. You can sit on it, and it makes a trotting sound. It is really like a real pony.
She named it Carson.
We wanted to see what he thought, but he was more interested in being in a new room.

She loves it.

Merry Christmas!

Hope that your Christmases were the best ever! We had one of our best, and I have a ton of pictures to sort through from such a wonderful time. Until then, I thought I'd put a few family pictures up from the day to say "Merry Christmas!"
