Through the Years

There's a little website called yearbook yourself...and well, I did.

I love this.
This was under the year 2000, which I apparently missed out on.
I totally had this cut in 7th grade.
AND I had this.

Don't miss out!

I've posted FIVE blogs today, so don't miss any by not scrolling down enough! I just got back in town from Kentucky, and I have some great pics and stories!

Meet Grayson

Today, our friends, Nick and Emily, became parents for the first time to Grayson Stone Mundy. He weighed 7lbs, 14oz and was 20 inches long. We went to visit them this evening, and he is a beautiful boy!

ONLY Travis

Before we went to the hospital to see the baby, Travis wanted to eat. For some reason, I just had no appetite or care where we went (THAT in itself is shocking), so we went to Western Sizzlin per his choice. Jeff and Rhenda met us there, and we were all talking when Travis just came back from the buffet. As soon as he sat down, he kind of screamed, "OH!" and jumped back up immediately. I said, "WHAT?!" as he scanned his chair. I thought something bit him. No...no no. He picks up a piece of fried okra that had fallen off of his plate as he sat down. Apparently, it was very hot and very GREASY okra. HAHAHA! As he turned around, I CACKLED with laughter. Then I begged him to let me take a picture and he obliged. He was known as "greasy panties" the rest of the evening. (PS: To even more of my pleasure, this did not come off, and he did go on to the hospital like this. What a good sport...greasy.)

A Rare Sight

I guess because he didn't live with us for the first 7 months after her birth or visit regularly like my mom, Sage is very shy around my dad. Like, she won't speak. He wants her to have something to do with him, but she is kind of like that around all the men in our family, except Daddy. On the evening before we left, Sage just got up and went in the living room with my dad and started talking his ear off. She took him outside: they jumped on the trampoline, they played tag. THEN when we were leaving Mema's, she said, "Papa, you sit in the backseat of the car with me. Mommy, you sit up front." And so he did. She should befriend him more because he bought her what she wanted at the store we went to.

Building Castles...

in the Kitchen! Sage has a newfound love for helping in the kitchen. Before we arrived, Mema found a recipe for a cake that looked like a sand castle for she and Sage to bake together. I was really impressed with how it turned out, and believe it or not, I helped decorate. We all had a lot of fun making and eating this cake.

The beginnings
of...
a MASTERPIECE! Isn't that adorable? Aren't they?!
I am still so impressed with how much this looks like sand.

She is proud.
And it was good to the last crumb. Right, Papa?

Kentucky State Fair!

Since last year, my mom has wanted us to come to Kentucky for the state fair. It is cool. We used to go every year when we were little. It was neat to see it again through the eyes of MY daughter. We had SO much fun. We were there for literally 12 hours, and the weather was great for August. My mom likes to tell people that we "saw it all, rode it all, and ate it all." Pretty true. There were some really neat shows, and Sage actually rode some big rides (for her). These were the first rides, other than the carousel, that she's ridden. Unfortunately those pictures were on my mom's camera, and she decided to delete them before I put them on a CD. Oh well, I have some cute pics too. Thank you, Mom, for a great day. Whatever we wanted, we got. It was a great visit.

IN Louisville
Sage liked this fountain.
This was an alligator show, and it was really cool. If that guy's reflexes had been SLIGHTLY off, his arm would have been gone. It was hissing and snapping its jaws at him. Pretty creepy.
Tiger show-7 tigers in one ring with one man, who I think may be dead after all the shows he did. "Trained" or not...I wouldn't do it. They kept roaring at the man when he'd try to pet them. This was the one white tiger.
Looking for a better meal...
This tiger was featured on "Most Amazing Animals" for her tightrope walk. I was pretty impressed.
Sage in the bumper boat
Her favorite--the bungee jump.
And for the first time, with help, she did a flip.
Ha...so true.
But so good.
Sage, Nonni, and Pupcake, the toy she chose.
The entrance to the midway. Sage rode that ferris wheel too. The rides went way back to the right, but I didn't get a view of that.

Happy Birthday, Angelle!

For Angelle's birthday, there was a picture at Sips N Strokes that she really wanted to do. So she, Lori, and I all drove to Trussville and gave it our best shot. I was actually very nervous about this because I had only painted 4 blocks of color in the cross I had previously done. This was a 2 1/2 hour class too. There were times I thought I had completely messed my picture up. Then there were times I was so tired of mixing different colors that I really didn't care. Then there were times I was ADD and wondered what I wanted to eat later. After the finishing touches, I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. AND we had a great time with a special visitor at the end.

Dance Time!!

The much anticipated day finally arrived: ballet AND tap classes! Sage has been asking me about this since we registered weeks ago. She has SO been looking forward to these. She also has friends from church in each class too, so that's a great bonus. I can already tell that I'm going to be much happier with this dance studio. I've seen their older dancers, and they are really, really good. So if Sage likes it (which that's an understatement), I want her to do as much of it as she wants and do it well. I'm glad we're able to do this for her. I think it's something she'll always appreciate as she grows.

Getting ready to leave...isn't she cute?
I think she was trying to look sassy, lol.
In her ballet class ready to begin.
So excited after ballet, getting ready to put her tap shoes on. She blinked, but she was so excited so I had to post it.
Sage and Eres, her ballet buddy.

Entertainment!

Kylie thinks Sage is GREAT. Sage can say one word to her, and Kylie can't help but smile all over herself. Of course, she didn't do it as much when I picked up the camera, but I caught the hints of smiles. Sage has been a big help to me. Kylie is a great baby, but it is a LOT of work that my mind has apparently blocked out. I thought these pics were cute.

Bitter, bittersweet

This won't mean much to many...unless you go to Word Alive. Then it will mean something. I found out last night that we are losing some of our best--Brian and Ramey Whalen. I am actually overwhelmed at how upset I am about this. I didn't realize that after 3 1/2 years, though I don't see them much outside of church (though I do spend LOTS of time there), that I call them friends. They are some of the most awesome worshipers and song writers I've ever seen or heard. They are going to another church to lead worship in Kentucky, ironically. They got an offer, went in for counsel with our pastor, and he told them to go because he felt it was the Lord.

We've enjoyed lots of laughs and awesome spiritual experiences for the past few years, but for now, it's until next time. I'm still banking on the fact they MAY not like it and come home. :) This is them at the call in Nashville. I'm mainly putting this here for my mom. You will need to turn your volume all the way up because 1. it's that good 2. it's just not very loud for some reason. I've asked Brian to make sure that Karen Wheaton never gets a hold of this or any of their other songs because she has butchered this and many others. Enough, Karen. Anyway, watch the whole thing, even though it's 10 min. You're cheating yourself if you don't. Trust me.

What's Going Down

Tomorrow 8-8-08 at Word Alive, my church. Check it. The little Indian guy talking is a prophet that came last September. Starting tomorrow at 6pm, we'll have 24 straight hours of prayer and worship until Saturday at 6pm. I've got the 6am-9am watch (leading worship) on Saturday. Should be cool...

Special Visitor

Due to certain circumstances, Meagan (who started back to school today) was unable to enroll Kylie in daycare this week, so I offered to help out until they can get it taken care of. Sage was so excited that she woke up...at 6am. She's actually a very good girl, and I'm pleased to say that SAGE was SO helpful. She got me whatever I needed when I asked. She lives for taking care of her babies, so this was like over the top for her. At one point she told me, "Mommy, I am so proud of you for taking care of this baby." She thinks it's HER responsibility to watch her (she asked me to watch her while she went to the bathroom), and as you'll see, she hasn't forgotten about her baby.
She covered her up because "she was cold," she said.

How sweet.
She couldn't walk away.
Wherever Kylie was, I would find Sage's baby either next to or very near her all wrapped up.
