It happened. It happened so fast that I didn't have time to absorb one thing before he was onto the next big thing. I like to separate milestones and make a big deal out of them all, but Costner doesn't have time for that. Costner went from this. And as you saw, he was sitting up well right before we went to my mom's house. At her house, I could sit him up (he'd just learned) and walk away. He fell a few times, but for the most part, he was sturdy. As he'd just mastered that, he instantly started rocking back and forth onto his knees, but he couldn't quite figure out how to get them out from underneath himself. But I was only home for days, when he not only got his knees out from underneath himself, he took OFF. And I'm not talking like an army crawl like most babies start off with. He pushed with one foot for like five minutes, but literally like the day after he started scooting, he was CRAWLING. Hands and knees crawling like a pro. It is crazy. I feel so unprepared. And what does he go for without fail? Cords. Electrical outlets. CORDS. Iphone chargers. It's loads of fun. He is much happier for it though and is trying to discover EVERYTHING.
Here he is crawling like the day after he took off. I need to do another updated one of the way he crawls now.
Okay, so we've also been working on sleeping in HIS bed. And sleeping more like an 8 month old instead of a 2 week old. I started with naps in his bed...and when he cried, I was shocked to see this when I walked in.
We hadn't been home a week. He went from wobbly sitting, to crawling, to pulling up to STAND. In a week! So I remembered back to my other kids when they first learned to stand. They were THRILLED with themselves. I still remember Jaggar blowing raspberries the entire time. I remember Sage squealing when she saw me because I'd been watching her through the cracked door and praised her when she was up on her feet. This one? He is FURIOUS. He stands there screaming like, "WHY am I in here?!" He does it out of anger. lol Travis instantly lowered the mattress after this picture was taken. I thought it was unnecessary at first, but now that he pulls up on everything and is trying to figure out how to climb UP on things, it's definitely for the best.
I'm proud and impressed of all that he has accomplished in just a few days of each other, but he better not start walking yet. And we're still pretty much a no on many solids.
