For YEARS, Sage has been asking when she was going to lose a tooth. She has willed her teeth to be loose for quite some time, so last week when she said that her tooth was loose, I kind of dismissed it. But when we got home, I felt it, and it actually WAS! I was so surprised because we'd just been at the dentist, and they didn't really mention it. So, being afraid of something new and painful, she would barely let us near her. I said, "Oh, it will come out on its own."
Two weeks later, last night, I asked to feel her tooth, and it was significantly looser. It was so loose, in fact, that Travis and I both determined that it needed to come out that night. Next came over an hour of screaming and crying. I would have taken more pictures, but I didn't want to be turned in for the child abuse that she made it appear to be. ;) I finally asked her if it hurt or if she was just afraid, and she was more afraid than anything else (understandable).
So, wanting to end it, I told her that I'd give her an early Christmas present if she'd let Travis get it out. Gotta love bribery. Well, that kind of made it worse. She wanted the present so bad, but she couldn't stand the tooth being messed with. More crying. She blamed me for even telling her that she had a present if she couldn't have it. Some blood appeared, and she thought THAT was good enough for a present. I was not participating in the pulling efforts. Travis assured her a spot on this blog if she got it out. :) THAT didn't inspire her. Can you believe that? Jaggar couldn't go to bed until it was done because of the screaming, so he started to play with his own teeth. I began to think that he may get one of his out before Sage did.
But THEN, I walked in...and it looked like this: frontwards. It HAD to come out for fear of swallowing it.
This picture cracks me up. Hour and a half of stuff like this, folks. It really WASN'T funny, but it's just Sage. I couldn't dare laugh in front of her.
