This is kind of how our night went last night.
8:30pm: We lay Sage down, which is usually a 30 minute process after all the questions and "the last hug" that turns into 20.
8:30pm-10pm: "Mommy! I have a booger on my hand!" (I go in there to get that.)
"My blankets are messing up!
The blankets messing up took up most of that hour and a half time frame.
3am: "Mommy...Mommy...my blankets are messing up." So I walk into the room and fix them. She is like WIDE awake talking to me, "Haha, you're not daddy. You're mommy." She was saying other things too that I don't remember, but it was 3am.
4am: "Mommy! Hey Mommy, I have a question!" (I'm thinking this is a JOKE. How is she coherent ALL NIGHT LONG?!) She keeps saying that she has a question. So I go in there and she says something about music and a monster coming out of the wall, which I have no clue what that was about. I said, "I have a question too. Why are you awake?"
4:45am: "Mommy, is the sun coming out?" SERIOUSLY?! So finally I go downstairs where Travis is asleep on the couch, and I'm like, "Hey could you take a turn with this because I've been up for 2 hours?" I go BACK in her room and open the blinds to show her that is, indeed, still dark. After some persuasion, I don't hear from her again until 6:45, which is normal....ahh! What a night!

Adorable!
I'm not usually impressed with other people's children, but this is SOOO cute. This is the niece of my friend, Angelle. Her name is Bridgid, and she's 2 1/2 here. It will definitely make you smile.

Disconnection
I was chatting with someone today, and they made the comment that they felt "disconnected." Without thinking, I said, "I always feel disconnected." I wasn't sad about it. I wasn't pitying myself. Actually, I'm perfectly okay with it. Granted, I do have friends, but due to something called "life," we're not running around together everyday. This is true of everyone, I know. I enjoy my own company more than anyone else. I'm quite sure of this. I think I can finally say that I'm at a point in my life where I'm okay with me: take it or leave it. And as far as friendships go, if I'm having to "work" at it like a marriage or a disagreement with a family member on a regular basis, then it's no good. I'm not doing it. Friendships should require time and effort, but I'm not going to wonder all the time if I hurt them or what I did to make them mad. Please.
Another peeve: myspace, facebook...internet in general. Blogs even. I'm usually (especially on myspace) very light, easygoing, whatever. I put "lonely" as my mood one day, and someone said it was "uncharacteristic" of me because I was always so happy. I don't nor will I ever bare my deepest issues on myspace or a blog. If you need to know, I'll let you know. If you'd like my personal opinion, here are things that people don't need to know via blog.

- marital spats (do I really need to explain this? come on, keep it between you two or a therapist. I put this here because I've SEEN this in blogs.)
- financial issues (No one cares! It is tacky too. Enough said.)
- pet peeves of your family that go beyond humor (if it makes your spouse or children look bad, don't say it. We all know that husbands {NEVER WIVES} and children can get on our nerves. Don't shed your family in a bad light, especially children.)

I Hate Her
Ha, not really! Never, but I just think this is one of the best pictures I've ever seen. Chrissie looks like a movie star here, though she denies it. This is 30 weeks with baby number THREE. I wouldn't dare put this on 3 years after the ONE child I've had. Oh well, I'll relish in her and be slightly jealous.

Change is Coming
After watching old streaming archives of church services, I've decided on two things:
1. I am losing weight.
2. My hair will be blonde again in the very near future.

A Little of This, A Little of That
A few random thoughts/updates:
- I had dinner with someone the other night, that if you'd told me that I was going to 3 years ago, I would have laughed in your face. Not only did I do this, but I enjoyed it. We have known each other for several years, but there has always been slight friction between us. I hope last night was the bridge over that. I choose to believe it was.
- After discussing anything mildly deep with anyone, I always wonder if I just screwed myself. With that said, any relationship you have is a risk. I'm coming to this realization and trying to not care and have my guard up so much. No risks=no relationships, which is just not liveable for me.
- I took Chanel for her first walk/run through the neighborhood yesterday since her accident before Christmas. I took MY first walk/run through the neighborhood EVER without someone or something physically chasing me. I'm just not a runner. She probably did better than me. It was a good effort though.
- Our choir is going to China Luck tomorrow night, and I'm actually going (so far). We've had a few functions before just to hang out outside of rehearsal, but I never go. I also never participate in anything that has "China" and "Luck" together in it, but I'm working on coming across like the nice person that I really am. Here's hoping. :)
- We're recording a CD this week. It's not going to be sold world-wide or anything, but it will be a current CD of us to sell at the church. This is cool to me because the last one was done way before I got there. We start laying vocals down this Thursday. I'm excited about this!
- There are few things I love more than a good nap in the floor. We have 4 beds and 4 couches in this house, but I will pass them all up for the floor. I don't really know why.

A Work in Progress
I'm pretty excited about this playroom thing that's been happening! We've had this room sitting for 3 years. Travis didn't really want to do anything with it, which I understood. In the meantime, our family room had toys everywhere. Recently, Travis swayed his opinion and has even been helping me. We turned the bed sideways, making it into somewhat of a couch. But it still allows people to stay here.
This room used to be the family room in the original setup of the house, which is why it has a fireplace. They converted the garage into a family room, turning this into another master suite. Two bathrooms were added, including a jacuzzi tub...which is again, never used. I've been cleaning out the room and the bathroom, making this into a nice little "pad" for Miss Sage. She is loooving it. Granted, we still have work to do...finding some place to store his bikes, adding more storage....but for now, it has come a long way.
She can cook, rock, draw, put her babies to bed, and relax all at the same time.
Modified "daybed" equals even more playroom.
Check out that tub! This is the only room in the house that Travis has NOT painted. If I could post some "before" pics when we first bought this house....oh wow. Each room was painted the ugliest color you could EVER put inside a house. Think peach, orange, WHITE with nineties wallpaper....it makes me cringe to think about it.

Dance Party
For the past several weeks/months, I've slowly been transitioning what used to be a bedroom into Sage's playroom. It's a huge room that will perfectly suit her MANY toys. While cleaning it out this morning, I found a Kids Bop CD circa 1998. Let me tell you, there is nothing like hearing "Oops I did it again," "All Star," and "What a girl wants" redone by children. So Sage and I have been dancing it up this morning. What's funny is that while bee-bopping to the music, she has been rocking on her rocking horse. I used to the do the same thing when I was little--listen to music for hours and rock on my horse until I'd fall asleep. I doubt the latter will happen with her, but here's to a new room and lots of fun.
