4 Months

Costner turned 4 months old this month on the 5th, of course.  He is really coming to life.  Laughs are DEFINITELY on purpose now.  Sage can just walk up to him, and he will laugh 90% of the time.  He is very ticklish, and he will laugh every time I change his clothes because he's so sensitive to touch.  I had to laugh looking back at Jaggar's 4 month stats.  Look at that here.  What I laughed at was that Jaggar was already rolling over at that point.  Ha...um Costner isn't even close to that.  Because to roll over, you have to lay down.  He is actually laying in the floor beside me as I type this, but that is an extreme rarity.  Jaggar just looks like a bigger boy to me in these.  Not bigger, as in fatter, but bigger as in older.  Costner weighed 15lbs even at his checkup and was 26 inches long.  He got his immunizations and ran a fever and cried the entire next day.  I'm close to splitting these up because he's not had fun days following both rounds of immunizations.  I also noticed in those pics of Jaggar that he was holding toys.  I can see Costner's mind working to make that happen.  I see him stare at something and put his hand toward it, willing it to open and grab it so it can go in his mouth, but he's not there yet.  He did it to Lori's necklace on Sunday, and I thought...oh, time is almost up for the jewelry I never wear these days.  I honestly couldn't tell you how he sleeps at night because it's such a blur.  I know he's not sleeping completely through it, but I don't know how many times he wakes up because I'm not fully awake when he does.

One thing does remain consistent, and that is that he is extremely happy.  These are on his 4 month birthday.

Sage's 5th Year Dance Pics

Sage's dance pictures are back, and as usual, they are great.  This is her 5th year of dance at Sheila Lindley's, and we're finally starting to see all of that money we've poured into her.  Sage is really a good dancer.  If you don't believe me, I've got some video from parent week this week.  

This was the first year that she was able to take jazz.  (You're actually supposed to be 9, but because she's taken for so long, she and 3 girls her age are in a class with 4th graders.)  Jazz is her favorite, too.  It's pretty fast with a lot going on, and I think that's why she likes it so much.  She does well.

 Her ballet, which is probably my favorite costume.  It has the perfect tutu, which a lot of moms that have girls Sage's age demanded to have this year...but Sage has always had a tutu, I think.

I went to the jazz class for parent week, but I didn't record.  I got sick on the next night with cold/fever like issues, so Travis went on Thursday when she has 2 classes and recorded.  Here is tap, and here is ballet.  A lot of girls were out this day because the state of Alabama pretty much shut down with the threat of storms.  What I like about this though is that it's easy to see Sage.  Jessica, her teacher, partnered with her, because obviously Sage's partner was absent, and Sage held her own with her, didn't she? I'm really thankful for this staff at this studio and what they've poured into my girl for many years now.

This happened Easter evening.  This boy is ticklish, and his laugh is awesome.

Finally some Easter pics.  Easter is weird for me because I normally have to be at church so early that I don't even enjoy the parts that I normally would with my kids.  We are rushed, and by the time church is over, I'm exhausted.  SO, as always, we do the fun kid parts on Saturday, but I'm pretty sure those pictures are on Travis' camera.  I hate myself for not videoing Jaggar when he saw his basket.  No child ever loved toys like he did, and he literally jumped up and down screaming when he saw Buzz Light Year.  It was SO funny.  And he thought that was such a great deal that he was all ready for the bunny to come BACK on Sunday.  He left his basket out again.  Of course he did.

We dyed some eggs on Saturday, which they loved...I did not.  I don't like stains, but I loved it when I was a kid, so I let them love it too.  Sometimes, I just have to walk away.

 Always the creative one.  He left this outside, it rained, and every bit of it came out.  So maybe I don't have to be so paranoid about the dye.

 I bought their outfits all separately, and I wish I'd known the boys would have coordinated, and I would've looked for a yellow dress for Sage.  Oh, well, we were just glad to be dressed and out the door on time.

 Me and Steve's Easter outfits.  This was another bummer.  Families all look so nice, and it's jeans and Thrive t-shirt for us.  Call me petty...but I would have liked to have worn a pretty dress.

 So I just took pictures of my pretty family minus me.  I thought about going upstairs and putting a dress on just for a picture, but...I was too tired to care.

 The weather turned out to be a nice day.  We had a nice lunch at Fuji and hunted eggs after naps.  I'll "try" to get the pics off of Travis' camera.

Air Walk

I'd had enough of sitting in the house.  Sage was so disappointed because we didn't go to Kentucky, and she really had her hopes set on camping.  That didn't happen either since we are still in the midst of Winter even though it's spring.  So I found a place via a friend called Air Walk.  It's an indoor trampoline place, and I had heard wonderful things about it.  Like all good things, it's in Birmingham, but I made a reservation and we were off the next morning.  It was the first time I'd taken all 3 kids more than 20 minutes from home.  It went really well.  Costner was great, and the kids had a blast.  It's funny how life has changed so much.  Sometimes it seems like I've lived several lifetimes within my own because I can remember going to Birmingham and spending well into the night there, if not the next day, and several hundreds of dollars.  Travis thought for sure we would be gone until about 8 or 9 that night, and I went prepared to do that...but I was home by 4 that afternoon.  We had a great time though.  We were just READY to come home.  I didn't even look for one thing for myself (gasp), but I'm still not at a weight that is fun to shop for me...and right now, I'm not even sure I'd care even if I was.  We had lunch at the summit and then I took them to Toys R Us around the corner.  It was a beautiful day, and not having a great toy store here, Jaggar was in HEAVEN in Toys R Us.  Remember me buying Costner's stroller and Jaggar thinking he was on his own personal shopping spree?   I'm not one to buy my kids any toys just because...but I did this day.  They were in shock...well, Sage was.  Jaggar actually thinks he's supposed to get a toy every time we go anywhere.  Sage was so grateful, and after that, they were more than ready to go home and play.  So we did.

This place is fairly new, but they are doing REALLY well there.  I'm glad we made reservations because they sold out for the day by the time we left at 11:30 that morning.

 Since it was spring break, it was very crowded, but even at their busiest, it was enjoyable.

 Jaggar was almost intimidated at first.  He wanted to be where Sage was at all times, which is kind of unlike him.  He's usually the leader.

Growing Boy

6 days shy of being 4 months old in these pictures, our boy is growing up way too fast.  He is STRONG, and this first picture freaks people out.  No, he's not standing on his own...yet, but it's funny how it looks that way in this picture.  Travis' arm is just perfectly behind him.

Spring Break

This could be the lamest spring break post ever.  How about, I didn't even know spring break was coming until less than a week before?  I thought it was in April...like 2 or 3 weeks in..but no.  Honestly, I was most excited about not getting up at 6 something to take a shower before Sage goes to school.  Our weather was not even close to spring.  It was just downright COLD, which was sad, because Sage had wanted so badly to go camping.  But the weather just did not cooperate, so it didn't happen.  We did manage to have some fun.  Not being in school was fun, although one day, she said school would have been fun.  Ouch!  But that's just because she was so set on camping.  She managed to collaborate with a friend from school on the phone, who showed up on my front porch after being driven over by her mom without me knowing she was coming, and got to play here.  They had so much fun. I also took her to see Oz The Great and Powerful, which was a cool movie, but it was pretty intense for children, I think.  I am SO glad I didn't take Jaggar, but the previews alone were enough to know that wouldn't happen. If you're a fan of the original, I think it's a great movie because they tie it in so well.

We also got a Panera Bread 5 minutes from my house, and we met Nichole and her girls there on opening day last Tuesday.  It was FREEZING outside, and they had a nice fire going inside.  It's Tuesday again, and I've already eaten there yesterday and today. 

 After we got home from lunch with Nichole, Jaggar suddenly spiked a high fever of over 102.  I gave him some Tylenol, which is horrific to give him medicine.  He seemed to feel better, but when I checked him about 11:30pm, he was hot with fever again.  My fear was strep, so I got him up again to give him more tylenol, which was a lost cause.  He spit it everywhere and knocked the drink I had for him out of my hand on the floor.  I'd already made a doctor's appointment for him the moment he spiked a fever because I worried about strep.  He woke up fever free the next morning, but I still took him.  Flu and strep were negative, but he did have an ear infection which she didn't think was caused by fever.  Neither did I.  So she said, "I'll call in some medicine for his ear."  He heard that and freaked, "NOOOOO!  I don't want medicine."  I carefully explained to him that it was that or a shot....and that kid said, "I want a shot!"  I told him again.  Surely he didn't understand what I was saying.  Again, he demanded a shot.  The doctor could not BELIEVE it.  After 4 times of explaining it and 4 times of him repeating the shot, the doctor said, "Well, surely he knows what you're saying, but I have never seen this before."  So, that's what he got.  Of course it hurt.  Later, I asked him, "Did you want medicine or a shot?  You know you chose that right?"  He said, "Yes, but I choose nothing next time."  lol.  brave boy.  He actually fell asleep on the couch at the end of that day.

 And clearly, he's eating well..  I have some pictures and video of when we did get to do something fun on Friday, but that's another day that I have more time. 

Feel the Love

There's a lot of love between these 3.  Okay...there's a lot of love between the 2 for the 1.  Sage and Jaggar do love each other, but they also have their shares of disagreements.  Sage doesn't seem to remember that Jaggar, too, was a tiny baby.  She doesn't believe it, but one day sooner than she thinks, Costner will also get on her nerves.  But for now, he's everyone's baby.

 Is that not the greatest smile ever?  3  1/2 months old here...sinee I'm terrible at posting on here.  Even now, I'm doing this over mopping or putting the clothes away that sit next to me...or most important...SLEEPING. (I haven't slept through a night since December 3rd...not that I'm counting.)

 Baby drool!  He's been drooling a lot for weeks.  Travis said he had a tooth tonight, but that was 100% false.
