Fun Things About Friday

Christmas Eve is ONE week from today. Are you ready???? I am NOT. I just can't seem to wrap it all up--and I mean that shopping wise and...um literally (I suck at wrapping and have yet to wrap anything). Travis has worked day and night this entire week, and let me just say that the single mom stuff is for the birds. We MISS him. BUT we're making the most of it because this time of year comes and goes way too fast, and we're determined to have fun. Here's some things I liked about yesterday.

Yep, that's right. I (still) LOVE the big 70s gaudy lights. It PAINS Travis to put them up, and he just cannot understand why, when I "seem to be put together in so many other ways," I go for this. I can't really answer that other than...as classy and elegant as people think white lights are, I think they are BORING. I have white lights in my lamps and every room of my house. Why do I want to see that at Christmas? I appreciate the fact that ANYONE decorates their exterior, white lights or not, but if you want my preference, I'm gonna need some color. My kids agree.
This has always been a fave of mine, and until the other day, I did not own it. I always watch it for 24 hours on TBS (to the point of Travis making me go to another room), but I decided it was time to add it to our collection. While it's not one that I play and let the kids watch alone (phrases like "smart ass" and "son of a bitch" just aren't ones I care for them to use), we do watch together, and I can (and do) sensor in the necessary scenes. In spite of that, I think it's a wonderful classic. JAGGAR, in particular, is in love with it. He sits and watches it with his mouth open lol. However, THE last thing that that child will ever get is a BB gun. He'd shoot MY eye out! ;)
THIS is one of the best free apps I've EVER put on my iphone. It's Toca Hair Salon Christmas Gift, and it provides a LOT of fun for the children...and me. This is one I did. You can style, cut, color, shave, blow dry, and accessorize Santa's hair or the Christmas Tree. DEFINITELY recommend. It's not one of those terrible free apps where you put it on your phone and then 99% of what you could do has to be bought in the full version. Get this!
This is what my night stand looks like EVERY single day. Every Christmas special character from the Peanuts Gang and Rudolph is strategically lined up by Jaggar himself daily. He works hard as you can see.
THIS makes Thanksgiving being apart from Travis more bearable. Arrived yesterday. Merry Christmas to ME. ;)
I just like him. We were watching A Christmas Story.
Friday was also Sage's last day of school before Christmas break (YAY) and her Christmas party. I was really sad because I wasn't going to get to go. Travis told me I could, and then his crew call for JSU was way earlier than he thought it'd be. So I told her I was going, and then had to tell her I wasn't. My babysitter situation wasn't working out, so I just had to pass...UNTIL Travis flew to get home on time and allowed me to be able to go. Sage was SO thrilled when I walked in the door of her classroom. She said that "she was delighted to see me." She was having a BLAST, as you can see. They wore their pajamas because it was "twas the day we were reading." They had ice cream sundaes and were high on sugar and excitement. She's not bold enough to do it, but you can BET that she was pretending to be their teacher by sitting in front of her classmates in this picture. Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Henderson. Sage LOVES her, and I'm so thankful. Because of another nice teacher, she continues to love school and learning. What I love about her is that I've had a few issues (one this past week) with other students not being so nice to Sage, and Mrs. Henderson is ALL over it--immediately--when I tell her about it. It's so nice that I don't have to get arrested for taking care of another child that's not mine! :)
