I mentioned on my birthday, which was 2 weeks ago, that Sage's right front tooth was REALLY loose. I didn't know how extreme "really" loose could be until Sage showed me. Considering that with her last tooth, she went upstairs and pulled it out all on her own, I thought losing teeth was a cinch from here on out. BOY, was I wrong. When I put her to bed last night, Sage was immediately up. She had messed with her tooth some, and it was bleeding. Don't worry, it's been bleeding every time we've brushed it for weeks. But last night, it was so loose that I thought she may swallow it in the night, but we did leave it. And she was determined today that she was STILL going to keep it. When I saw that she could do THIS....right below, that was not happening. So I said that either she could pull it out or I would. Oh, the tears that followed. I honestly believe it was easier to deliver BOTH of my kids than it was to convince her that this was no big deal. She had it in her mind that because it was a front tooth and that it was bigger that there would be more pain. That was an understandable fear. It's just that it was literally detached everywhere but the very front.
Someone said she looked like Nanny McPhee! And I had to agree.

So during Beauty and the Beast, I said, "You need to start working, or I'm doing it. You're going to knock it out with your tongue in your sleep. It's that loose." Cry. Cry. Cry. Sob. Whhhy? If she doesn't win an academy award one day, I don't know who will.
It was so loose that it was literally JUST hanging on in the front. That is the bottom of the tooth sticking out of her mouth at a complete 90 degree angle, yet still attached!
And then Travis took over (not pictured below) and literally just detached it. She screamed and cried for about two seconds until her triumph overshadowed it. It felt funny and she even has a little lisp now, which is adorable. She's laughing here, not crying. Travis was just letting me get a good picture of her missing tooth.
When my mom was here, she was trying to bribe her to get that tooth out and told Sage that she'd give her a dollar if she got it out. Well, that didn't happen, but Sage did call her and tell her that it was finally out. She said, "I slept with my tongue back last night because I didn't want to swallow it!" :) Then mom said Sage asked, "Nonni, can you mail me that dollar?" Mom said it had passed the statue of limitations. I know the tooth fairy will be making her way here tonight to my little toothless wonder. Sweet baby girl growing up way too fast.
