Here in Alabama, fireworks are a big part of New Year's Eve and because we live down the street from a huge fireworks stand, there is no shortage of them. I'm not really a fan because they are loud and have the potential to wake my children up, who do not stay awake until midnight. Anyway, on the afternoon of New Year's Eve, Travis gave the dogs a bath. Shortly after that, Mayer got out and was running wildly through the neighborhood. Travis did catch him only for him to get out again a few minutes later. So, we just left him out because Travis wanted to go to the store.
We got back a few hours later, and it was dark. Mayer came running to us ready to go inside, but Travis didn't let him. So, he sat by the back door whining to come in. Our house has 3 back doors, and Mayer would just come to the one that we were closest to. We put the kids in bed and that's when they started: fireworks. Suddenly we heard a huge thud on the back door. It was Mayer throwing himself into it because he was terrified. Repeatedly. So, like any loving dog owner, we took pictures. Because it was hilarious.I can't tell you how much this makes me laugh.
