A Piece of Word Alive

If you know me of if you don't, I hope you know that Word Alive has a very special place in my heart. It's afforded me a lot of wonderful opportunities and experiences and really changed my life. And I have the special privilege (most) every week to see 1000s worship and come to know the Jesus that I love. I've met people there that are like family to me and that have impacted my life in wonderful ways. All of my best friends that I've met have been met at Word Alive. That alone says how special it is. Anyway, music--particularly worship--is what I do and love. Today was a lot of fun, and I was able to do a song that I love called "That My Soul Knows Very Well." This is an older song that I've always loved but have never sang at our church. But for some reason, everyone has thought on two different occasions now that I have been the one to lead it. Not the case, but I did do that today, and I think it was pretty special. Not me but the moment. Travis recorded it. We don't do that for show, but I like to look back and see another perspective. He WAS on the very front row to record, which mortified me beyond belief. After mouthing obscenities and threats from the stage (Jk...kind of..), he did go back a bit. I do not care that you cannot see my face. I could not sing with an iphone in my face. Anyway, he accidentally stopped it on my song so it's in two parts, but it's still okay.

This first one is a bit of the song that Heath leads called "Freedom," and it's a lot of fun. If I moved like this all the time, I'd be in better shape.

You know what I love most about this song? The fact that everyone in the congregation sings along so beautifully. Until I watched this back, I didn't really realize how much they REALLY sing, and that's so awesome.

My friend, Bill, sent me what he recorded off of the first service from Word Alive's streaming. Travis thought that service was better, so here's part of that. Thank you, Bill!

***Funny sidenote: When I first watched back what Travis recorded, I said, "Okay, I thought I was losing it some on that last part but it was okay." Travis said, "Yeah I could tell." Rule of males and females broken. If I think anything about me is wrong, you don't agree. You don't even acknowledge it at all. It's either NOOOO or Huh? What are you talking about? Anyway, I immediately was like, "What do you mean???" He said, "That you were getting emotional." I said, "Oh...is that what you thought?...Oh okay that's cool." He said, "If you ever feel like your voice is going to crack, always fake crying. Then everyone will be so touched." Hahaha. I had to give him props for that....and possibly keep that idea in my back pocket.

You did a great job today, Julie. I sent you a link on youtube that I recorded on my phone from the computer screen, lol. Not great quality, but it did capture your spontaneous worship at the end. It was really awesome. :)

Thanks, Bill. I didn't get that link though. Oh um any idea who uploaded redeemer to god tv or video or something? Someone posted that link to fb and I see in the description Julie Spencer. It did have way more likes than YouTube like 253 which made me laugh. I hate that video.

Thank you so much! Travis loves that one a lot more actually. I will put this one up here too. I'm reminding myself the camera adds 10 lbs, too. ;)
