Sage's 7th Birthday Party

This year for her birthday, Sage decided that she wanted to do a pottery painting party at Precious Prints Pottery. This was the best idea because the weather was horrible on Saturday: pouring rain, thunder, lightning...until right before we walked out to leave...and the sun actually ended up coming out. Perfect. She was SO excited about her party. She had such a great time when she painted there before that she just knew that her friends would, too. She was right.

Let me backtrack here for just a sec and show that morning of her party. Remember, we had elves in town. Look what they'd been up to in the night. Sage didn't realize until later that it said, "U R Seven." I guess she just thought that they were there.

And Mickey was floating (literally)upside down by all the balloons.

This was right before we left. Those balloons were and still are up in the air.

Travis picked up her cake and some ice, and I thought that it turned out to be so cute. WHERE did I get this amazing cake??? Everyone wanted to know. Walmart. Nick was shocked. I'm not about paying $100 and up for cakes unless it's a wedding cake.
Sage picked this out herself, of course, and she thought that it was perfect. Agreed.
So proud. Rightfully so.
While we were getting everything ready, Jaggar insisted on having a cookie.
One of the things that I did was that I picked out a special plate for Sage, and they put her hand print on it. Tara, the owner, drew what will be a cupcake around it, and everyone at the party signed the plate. Amber and Kaci are signing here.

As Sage's friends arrived, they were instructed to pick out whatever they wanted in this room to paint. This decision alone took some time with everyone.
She had Mickey Mouse, all of the Disney Princesses, ballerinas, dragons....and each child chose something very specific...and pretty much the complete opposite of what each parent thought they would choose. For example, Cailin chose a lizard. I told Jill that it would always remind her to keep her car insurance up to date.. the Geico Gecko. :)
Jaggar and Travis' dad. I thought that Jaggar would be uninterested in painting, but he had a tractor, and he really loved it.
Kylie brought Sage some candy.
Look at that face.
Grayon arrived. Adalyn was at home napping, so Emily stayed home with her. Nick, being father of the year, came alone.
Everyone had finally picked out what they wanted to paint.
Tara is explaining to the kids about pottery and how to paint it. She was great with them.
I gave Meagan the reigns to help Jaggar.
The birthday girl got to pick out her paint first.
Travis' dad helped Kylie the entire time, and it was so cute. And Sage's expression is like that in every picture. She IS having fun, but she is also very serious about her work.
Can you see what she chose? A huge horse with a girl on it with long, flowing hair. Very pretty.

I was SO pleased with how this turned out. The kids just loved it. It was calm and mellow, but they were also having so much fun. And my house didn't have to be cleaned and then RE-cleaned for it! Perfect.
Look at Mister.

THERE'S Sage's. Travis ended up having to help her finish because she spends TIME on this, and she wants it to be just right.

Grayson chose a cow. :)
Here is Kaci's. I thought that was so sweet.

So cute. She later told me that her party was amazing. I think everyone would agree.

***I have so many pictures from this party that I'm dividing it up into sections. It's like another Christmas post!!
