Last year, I went to Target mid-January and stumbled upon them marking down clearance toys to 70% off. It took 2 trips and 3 carts, but I had birthday and Christmas gifts for every child I could possibly have to buy for for the entire year. Seriously. So THIS year, I was looking for them to do that again, and they did not disappoint. Turns out, they did it on the EXACT day that they did last year, which I was counting on. I had first pick to whatever I wanted. I already told Travis that I needed help, and we had already been scoping out what we wanted. They had been 30% for about 2 weeks, but I knew they would go to 70% off. Check us out. Travis said he felt like those people on Extreme Couponing on TLC. And we kind of were. The most I paid for anything was $30, but that's because the toy was originally $100. Can't beat that, guys. I got the only Smart Cycle they had, which I contemplated buying for Sage when she was smaller, for Jaggar. It was originally 80, and I got it for 24. Travis said that he's already excited about Christmas for this year. :)
Jaggar IS in there. Barely. He totally thought he hit the jackpot today though and that I was just being REALLY nice in buying him ALL of this stuff. I did give him some Thomas Christmas trains, but the rest was put away. He seriously cried for over an hour for a dinosaur train. He kept going into the bathroom and pointing to the attic and saying, "It's up there! Get it!"
Here is SOME of our stash while Travis was putting it in the attic. Even though we spent a LOT of money today, I saved SO much more. No joke, it's seriously over $1000 worth of stuff. I am a saavy shopper.
