Sage and Jaggar have had their dose of me these past few days, as Travis has been working a lot. He's had several games that made him leave early and get home after we were all in bed. Days like this can be long. Sage's stomach virus turned out to be mild. Thank you, Jesus, for hearing my prayer. Honestly, after I prayed for her, she never threw up again. She was wild by that afternoon, so I knew she was fine, and the rest of us have stayed nausea free. Prayer works! Travis got a last minute shoot for Saturday. I was so looking forward to having a break where we all had nothing to do, but oh well. So we've been doing a lot of this. Yes, it's a Christmas puzzle, but it was $1 at Target, and it was cute so Sage and I made it. It's been FOREVER since I built a puzzle that was over like 10 pieces so I actually found it to be a bit therapeutic. Sage turned out to be very good at them herself.
After Jaggar went to bed the night before she got sick, Sage and I played with her Hello Kitty Squinkies. It's amazing what I see in her when I turn off the tv, the phone, the ipods and ipad and just...PLAY and talk to her. There are such amazing things that kids have access to today starting at such a young age, and those things are great. But all of that means nothing if they don't have YOU--the parent. You matter. And I see that so much when I have quiet moments with just she and I where we aren't doing anything aside from being together. It's important. On another note, check out what Jaggar busts out occasionally here. Even though he is prompted by me here just for video purposes, know that he will randomly burst out singing that song at any given time. So fitting. If I had a dollar for every time someone heard me say his name and then start singing that song, I'd be as rich as Adam Levine.
Last night, cabin fever had set in, so I put pinterest to work for me. I declared it a movie and junk food night. We went to the store and got several things that I could make based on some recent pins that seemed easy enough. I made s'mores nachos. Okay, folks, this took about 20 seconds from start to finish, and Jaggar, in particular, thought it was the best day of his life. He eats just like me while Sage eats just like Travis. A few bites for her and she was done. Jaggar had so much chocolate under his nails that it looked like he had played in dirt. He'd eat nothing but chocolate if we'd let him. I can relate to that weakness. If I didn't eat sweets, I'd seriously probably drop 15 lbs. But since that wouldn't work for me, I consider it a gift to love sweets so much. :)
Sage was all about posing to look like she just took this out of the oven, while Jaggar only cared about eating it.
We decided to watch Charlie Brown's Valentine special since we love Charlie Brown, and that is the next upcoming deal for us...aside from a very special little girl's birthday THIS week.
