This is my final zoo post. We had a really great time. Against my better judgment, I brought the sit n stand stroller and pushed 75lbs around at different times of the day. I felt it for the next two days. Jaggar woke up the next morning asking to go back and "see those animals." He just loved it.
They have a petting zoo in there that includes...goats. My kids didn't care. Any animal they can touch is good with them. And who knew that you could TRAIN a goat? They had one (not pictured) on a tree stump like this one, and he was sitting, standing on his hind legs, shaking, saying "yes," spinning. They were smarter than my dogs!
Little J and a goat
Sage liked this goat.
The lions were really close on this day, and the male one even roared. It was really cool.
Beautiful. Reminds me of Aslan.
On the thrones
Okay...I'll be brief here, but I guess I should mention that I got in a fight with some old freak in here with the giraffes. Jaggar had been talking about the giraffes ALL DAY. He'd say, "Okay, you ready to go see the giraffes now???" So here we are inside. Notice that bar behind him that's just above his head? Also notice the jail like bars a foot beyond THAT, so it's not like he was walking in the lions' den. Though I hear giraffes are really malicious *rolls eyes*. I sat down to rest for one second, and Jaggar went under that bar. I'm telling my mom to get him. This old freak in a motorized chair starts literally yelling, "HEY! HEY! WHO DOES HE BELONG TO?" I said, "Um HEY, he's mine, and you can back down." He's like, "He doesn't need to be back there!" I said, "Um he's mine. You can back off. And he's THREE." He just keeps going on and on. Well...I certainly wasn't going to let him have the last word. It went on. And on. I told him to basically shut his mouth. He told me I was old enough to know better. lol I'm like, "You're old enough to get out of my business." I'm a very good mother when it comes to not letting my kids run wild. I hate public play places because I ALWAYS end up disciplining other people's kids. Every time. So this was like absurd to me. And that's because it was. Freak. Don't screw with my kids. It's really not the time. I am not intimidated by much of anyone or anything these days, and I will probably hurt feelings. Or get arrested. It's always a toss up. ANYWAY, Jaggar saw the giraffes and was thankfully oblivious to that fool.
Onward to the rhinos!
More statue photos
And this was on the way home: a sure sign of a good time. :) He slept for hours on the couch.
