I wanted to mention a few milestones that Sage had last week. One thing that she didn't know how to do yet was to tie her shoes. I think the reason she didn't know yet is because she has one pair of tennis shoes, which she wears for PE. The rest are all flip flops, sandals or boots. So it really wasn't her fault that she didn't know how. Since she was going into 1st grade, I decided last Tuesday that I'd sit down and work with her. THAT was the main problem. I'd never just taken the time to really show her. So Jaggar laid down for his nap, and I started to show her. Just like I KNEW she would, she got it in like 15 minutes. She was kind of iffy on it and said she was tired of it. So I said, "Okay, no prob. We'll try again later." I walked out of the room, and she met me on the steps with her tied shoe that SHE tied. I'd say that's pretty impressive.
Another first for Sage last week was that she had her first sleepover with a friend. She's stayed with Travis' mom a handful of times, but that's it. She loves Amber at church, and they had VBS at our church last week. Lori asked me when I went to pick her up if they could keep her for the day and if she could stay the night. I thought the day was a good start, and if she wanted to stay the night, that was fine too. I honestly thought that she wouldn't do it, but she was thrilled to stay. The youth had a swim party at their house, so Sage was right in the middle of it. I did get a bit of a teary call at 9pm. She wanted to stay. She just wanted HER things. So Travis took a bag of her things over there, and she did it. Lori sent me this picture after he had left.
