Today was the day: Sage began life as a first grader. I have to say that it was WAY less intense for all of us compared to last year. I was having panic attacks last year. It seems like it was just a mild break (because it was!) since we got out for summer! While she was gone today, I was looking back from when I wrote this, and it felt good to have felt like a veteran today. Was I personally GLAD she was back in school like some that said that they couldn't wait for them to go back? No. Not at all. School is a hassle to me. And it's letting go a LOT for this mommy, but we press on because what choice do we have, right? Sage could definitely wait to go back, but she also didn't cry about it (like I did every year of my schooling life) and fit right back into the saddle in no time. She is now role playing teacher again just as she was before. It is so funny to see her talking to her imaginary kids at ALL times. You better not dare laugh about it either. :) I am very proud of what a big girl she was today and know that she will have a great 1st grade year!
This was when I went to wake her up this morning. She got up right away. It'd be a dream if mornings were always this smooth! Here's hoping! It was so cute to see her smiling when I walked in. So excited.

Her lunch. When I was making it, I kept thinking, "I can't BELIEVE we're here again already!" I feel like summer should be a 4 month break.
FIRST grade (They remind me of the contestants on American Idol when they hold up the number to vote for them.)
Sweet! Doing exactly what I KNEW he'd do, Jaggar had to be woken up out of a dead sleep at 7:10. Prior to the first day of school, he's been up at like 6 something.
Here's what she colored today. I asked her, "So what do you think of 1st grade?" She said, "NICE!" Good sign!
