When I woke up the morning after the recital, the first thing I thought about was when I could crawl back into bed that afternoon. Even though it was Mother's Day, I was ex-hau-sted. But my kiddos came into the room with gifts, so that was a nice wake up call. Travis told Jaggar to say, "Happy Mother's Day." Instead, he handed me the bag and said, "Thank you." :) I was pretty excited about this gift. My mom gave me this gorgeous swarovksi hello kitty bracelet with the purse charm when she first got here this visit (you know, the traditional mother to child gift on mother's day?). So Travis took the kids to the mall, and they chose the bow charm. Actually, Sage said, "That was what Daddy would let me choose." I was told the one she wanted was $150. Ha, that's my child.
Isn't that fun? When I saw that they made a Pandora like Hello Kitty bracelet with charms (I'd always wondered why pandora didn't have them), I said, "Why do I not have this already?" So my mom went out and got it for me.
I have to admit that the one time I was scheduled to sing at church in the month of May, I was not happy about it being after the recital. Thankfully, we had a pretty short song set ourselves, so it wasn't much to do on my part except to be there physically. That sounds terrible, doesn't it? But we had reservations at Classic for noon, so we had places to go! Mom had asked me to make one the week before, and I thought they'd be out of them, but they were seating people across the street in the Noble building. The lady assured me that it would be the same food, etc etc. I was okay with this. When we got there, it was PACKED, but they seated us rather quickly. Everything looked nice. And I sat down...in a plastic folding chair. Strike one. Sage was APPALLED. I mean, really...I'm a relatively small person, and I thought I was going to break the chair. Then we waited and waited for a server to take our drink order. When she came, she said, "Happy Mother's Day! Would you guys like a tea or coke or something?" Before I realized it, I said, "Yes, SOMETHING." I'm finding that my normally thin filter for what to say and not to say is virtually non-existent in my pregnancy. It's like I'm watching myself in the 3rd person and going, "What are you doing???!" Another horrid example is when Amanda was talking about the singing schedule and she said, "Yes, they requested Gadsden team again for next weekend." My response was, "Seriously?" She said, "Yep." As if that wasn't bad enough, I went further with, "Did they request you? Or did you just schedule yourself?" OMG! Duct tape. I digress. I may have many apologies to make come December. ANYWAY, so we finally got drinks and went to get food. Sage is still freaking out over the chairs and when she glimpsed under the white linen table cloth...well that wasn't up to par either--the table. As far as food goes, I love their shrimp and grits. But one of the burners was out underneath it, and the ones I got were cold. And I don't even like scalding hot food like my mom. But these were COLD. One of my rolls was burned. Our dishes piled up. I had to flag another server for a refill. Call me crazy, but if I'm paying $100 for a meal, it BETTER be up to par...and they just weren't. I plan on telling them my thoughts on it (I surprisingly didn't at the time), and I will prob never go back on a holiday like that unless I'm in the actual building. Regardless of all of that, we had a great time with 4 generations of mothers and children. Here's some pics.
He has a good time wherever he goes.I forgot our camera in the car, but thankfully, Mom and Mema took pictures. I thought about going to get it, but I was too tired to care. I knew that one day, I would want pictures, but I couldn't motivate myself for that day. I can SEE my tiredness in these pictures.
A nice group shot
When we got home, it was most definitely nap time. It was probably the most needed nap I've ever taken. Normally, I'll read or watch tv for a few before I go to sleep. This time, I was asleep by the time Travis came in to change clothes after putting Jaggar down. I slept for a little over THREE hours. The beauty of it is that the kids did, too! It was awesome. When everyone was up, Jaggar wanted to play the wii. So of course, Sage was putting on her dance costumes that were now hers to play with. Her foot was fine by this time.
And a few minutes later, I heard her laughing behind the couch with Jaggar. When he came out from the corner, he was wearing her hip hop costume and cackling. We all couldn't help but crack up because he looked hilarious. And he suddenly started throwing up signs.
Too cute. All in all, it was a wonderful Mother's Day. I am so blessed to have the wonderful children that I have and for being from a wonderful mother and grandmother. It was nice to have them ALL together, too.
