On Tuesday, February 8th, Jaggar and I left our house at 5:30am to welcome Iris Adler Larkin, Sean and Chrissie's newest baby girl, into the world. There is nothing more exciting than waiting on a new baby to be born. She was born at 7:19 am, weighed 7lbs, 7 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. I couldn't help but get teary as I walked into the room holding the newest big sister, Holland, and seeing this tiny baby crying her first cries. New life is truly amazing and is covered by the fingerprints of God. I was also brought back to that exact moment when each of my kids entered the world, and it seems like it was yesterday--not six years and soon to be two years ago, respectively. Time sure does fly. Welcome, Iris! You are loved.
Jaggar loved her and kept saying, "Uh, baby. Uh, baby." At one point, the nurse had placed the baby in the bassinet, and Iris was screaming. Jaggar ran over to Sean, who was sleeping, and knocked on his chest and said, "Uh, BABY!" Like, "Hello! Your baby is crying! Get her!" It was so cute.
