Graduating Pre-K

Last night was the final chapter closing on preschool days for Sage: her graduation. I can't say enough how much I loved St Mark. I will be putting Jaggar there when he gets old enough. They love their kids as much as anyone other than the parents possibly could and it shows. Sage never once said that she did not want to go to school, and that is a true testimony to how good they were with them.

She learned SO much this year. By the end of this year, she knew all of her letters, both upper and lower case. She knows numbers 1-10 and mostly 10-20. They made a book of pictures throughout the year and periodically had her write her name: once on the first day, once in the middle of the year, and then at the very end of the year. It was amazing to see how much she grew. I just loved that. We are very proud of Sage and all that she learned this year.

The graduate before we left for the programCruiz feeling better. We spent that afternoon at the dr because it was the 3rd day of fever, and it was 103 when he woke up from his nap. The result: strep. He had pus pockets all over his throat. No wonder he was so pitiful. They gave him a shot and some antibiotics, and he is a new baby this morning. For the first time in a week and a half, I can put him down!
They played a slide show during the ceremony with pictures of the graduates as babies and then their graduation picture to that song, "Let them be little because they're only that way for a while. Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle. Let them be little." That's not cruel and unusual punishment. I remember that song came out when Sage was a baby, and I used to weep during it.
Getting ready to walk down the aisle to the graduation song. She was excited about this part.
Then the kids had picked out all of their favorite songs throughout the year to sing. This was, "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands."

After all of the songs were done, each teacher presented their kids with diplomas and asked what they wanted to be when they grew up. It was so sweet. Ms Betsy, Sage's teacher, cried in speaking of these kids leaving. Sage said that she wanted to be "a mommy."
Afterward, we went to their classroom to take a class picture and to pick up their book of pictures from throughout the year. Ms Betsy also had a beach pail with their name on it, a shovel and bubbles inside along with an alphabet book made of things with each letter out of their thumbprints. Told you they were creative with fingerprints there.

Sage sure loved Ms Betsy.
They had cookies and punch in the reception hall too.

She wanted a picture holding Jaggar.
