7 Years

Seven years ago today, I married Travis. What a crazy, fun, not so fun, trying, exhilarating, frustrating, but WORTHWHILE time it has been! See, that is life. I love Travis more today than I did seven years ago because we have stuck through the times that BOTH of us have wanted to walk in the other direction. THAT is love.

To anyone that is not married, trust me, you will have a time in your marriage where the best option will feel like divorce. But it's when you don't do that. It's when you decide to honor the vows you made, make it work, and trust that God is able to take both of you in your completely different viewpoints and make something beautiful out of it. I don't miss the dating, "lovey-dovey, we-never-fight" days because love is seeing someone at their worst and still giving them your best.

Love is laughing together. Love is knowing each other's quirks that drive you insane but overlooking them. Love is Travis turning down the bed for me at night. Love is me laying out Travis's clothes for him when he works late, so that he doesn't have to look for them in the dark. Love is eating at Western Sizzlin when you'd rather eat at Fuji. Love is eating at Fuji when you'd rather eat at Western Sizzlin. (I'll let you all figure out who goes with what scenario there.) Love is getting up with a sick baby even though you have to go to work. Love is Travis taking off of work early to get Sage, so I don't have to wait in the doctor's office with both kids by myself. Love is admitting you were wrong, even if you thought you were right. Love is letting the other person win. Love is Travis and Julie Spence.

We haven't really exchanged gifts on our anniversary in a while because what I usually want, I buy for myself. This year was different though. We exchanged gifts on Saturday morning because we had a busy weekend.
My gift was a pandora bracelet with a charm that has 2 hearts connected together: a perfect anniversary charm! I love it because, not only is it pretty, but it's something he can add to for other special occasions. Jaggar loved it too. :)
I had Travis's gift in the other room. This was his reaction to....
a new coffee maker! He's always wanted one that had the ability to grind the coffee beans, so he was very happy. Yay for gifts!
