Here's some pictures that we took at the mall on Friday at Santa's arrival. When I was growing up, this was a huge deal, and I wished that our mall did something better than what they do. The mall in Louisville used to and still does a big parade with Santa at the end, but it's a little different here. Last year, he just kind of pulled up in a carriage. This year, they tried to do it a little better, I guess. The sign said, 'Santa's Arrival at 6pm,' so we sat down about then. Little did we know that the Salvation Army would play one verse of about 50 different Christmas Carols. Not that it wasn't pretty, but by the time you just started enjoying one song, they were done with it. So when they finished, I thought, "Okay, this is it." Noooo, some weird lady with a Christmas tree on her head read what I THINK was "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" based on the pictures that came up behind her. Other than that, I'm not sure because we couldn't understand a word of what she was saying. Then after 30 min of that, Santa just came up on the stage and said, "HEY kids! We're going down to the other end!" And...that was that. It was still fun though. Maybe it will improve more and more each year. Either way, Sage WANTED to see him, so that's an amazing improvement.
Sage doing what she does when you take her picture.
Listening to the music
Cute girl
That was kind of my reaction to the whole thing too.
Weird lady being interrupted (thank God) by Santa.
And there he goes.
We'd hoped this would suffice for a picture rather than waiting in the line.
They do make it snow at regular intervals, which is really fun.
Waiting in line
What Santa gave us. Sage said she can talk to Santa in those glasses because he can't see her.
