Happy Birthday to You

When the time came to sing the birthday song, I was so ready for everyone to see how cute Jaggar was in blowing out his candles. I just KNEW he'd love it. He was already in love with his cake. I was in love with it, too!! I've said before how crazy Jaggar is about "Hotel for Dogs." Well, he's also crazy about his stuffed dog that he appropriately calls, "Mayer." He sleeps with it every night, so I took it to the bakery that I was using (Too Nice to Slice) and told them that is what I wanted on the cake. I was a little nervous because I hadn't used them before, and I had talked to 3 different people, but they totally came through! I was SO pleased with it, and so was Jaggar!!

Here was the inspiration for the cake: his favorite dog.

And here is how it turned out! Isn't it great???

Perfect!!

The party started at 1:00, so Jaggar was able to take a great nap before anyone arrived. When he woke up, I showed him his cake for the first time. He loved it. "Dog!" he said. "Cake!" He's been talking about his cake for a while now.

So after we all ate, it was time to sing! Get ready to be impressed, folks. My child is a prodigy.

Annnd this face right here is where I should have known he wasn't going to go for it.

He appears to want to be elsewhere.

Was it the cameras? The people? The singing? I don't know!

But I leaned him forward to blow out the candles and...he pretty much did nothing.

He KIND of blew, but not enough to put out the candles signifying his 2 year age mark. Look at Sage just DYING to get the go ahead.

And we gave it to her. :)
