Art by Sage

This evening, Sage's school had an art show that showcased ALL of their crafts that they had made since the beginning of school last August grouped by seasons and holidays. In each display, someone got the "1st prize" ribbon so each child felt very special, and it was fun to search for the ribbon. Sage has worked really hard all year and has made some very beautiful things. I took a few pictures of her work.

Caterpillars: Sage's is the top right.
Thanksgiving Turkey
Travis and I were so impressed with the MANY different things that they were able to make out of hand prints and foot prints.
Sage's Easter Egg
This was the Fall section with pumpkins, scarecrows, corn, bats, and ghosts. Sage is pointing to her pumpkin.
Okay, this is so awesome. They made dandelions, and their teacher asked each child what their wish was. She then printed their wish and put it above their dandelion. They typically went something like: "wishes to meet the Jonas brothers, wishes to be a Barbie doll, wishes to have a puppy," etc. This is a picture of one of Sage's classmates, Blake. He, rightfully, got first place. ha!
Typical little boo boo. This made me smile. She seems so independent these days, and this reminded me of her before Jaggar was born.
Her Bat
Daddy, Jaggar and Sage in front of her Santa and flying reindeer made out of her finger prints. Jaggar almost swiped the paper off the wall. He was constantly taking a swipe at the work.
Her Santa
And the category that SHE won first prize in: the SNOWMAN. Yep, SHE drew Auburn on the face of it where every other child had eyes and a mouth, go figure. We had to laugh. This kid is crazy over Auburn just like her Daddy.
Mister
I thought that this was so cool. Her shamrock was the only one that was NOT colored solid green with a brown stem out of her entire class (though you can't see all the shamrocks here). I thought that was creative and bold of her. We have really enjoyed Saint Mark and what a sweet school it has been. I have not, for a second, regretted putting her there this year. They do so much with the kids to make them feel special, and she has learned so much. Kindergarten looms in our future, but she is ready and they have played a great part in that.

Still Buddies

*Yes, that is a sucker that was still in the wrapper, but Houdini did somehow manage to get it open later.

Rollin' Like a Big Shot

I gave in. I felt sorry for Jaggar straining to see out the window and to see me, Sage, or anything else. So, I weighed him on Tuesday. 20ish lbs? Okay, it was between 19 and 20. Either way, he's almost a year old (yikes), and he's ready to face forward in the car. Travis got the big seat in the car, and the next morning Jaggar was sitting like a big boy. I think he's a bit like, "What in the world?!" but he definitely enjoys being able to see out the window and to just see!He still looks so small in such a big seat.
"I can see out there!"
"Mommy! Did you see me?"

Look Fast!

Because this gummy smile (minus the two bottom teeth) is about to be no more. On Monday, April 26th, I felt inside Jaggar's mouth and felt that the top left front tooth had come through the gums. Then, 2 days later, the right one had followed. Apparently, he thinks he's all grown up at 11months old. He's a big boy and a big eater. Ever since he had surgery all he does is eat! He can eat an entire macaroni and cheese kid's meal from O'Charleys. Its shows how good he feels now.

Spring is Here...hopefully

The flowers are blooming outside now, which means SPRING IS HERE. Although, it was 40 something degrees yesterday morning and this morning, we'll still say that spring is here. I thought that Sage looked so pretty in front of these pink flowers right in front of our house yesterday.

Blankie

Whenever Jaggar lays down to go to sleep, he has to have this particular blanket in his bed. I know that once he is asleep, I can walk into the room and find him like this EVERY time. It's so cute. He loves his blankie.

A Sweet Surprise

This morning, I was talking to a friend that I went to college with when a white van pulled up in my driveway. My first reaction was, "Great, now what?" because these days, when people come to your door, it's usually not to say hey. I then thought that the van was just turning around, but a few seconds later, a man got out of the van with a bundle of balloons.

I went to the door where this man handed me these balloons attached to a stuffed puppy dog with a card that said "Jaggar Spence." Inside it said, "We love you, Kent and Bev and the Word Alive Family." How sweet! Tons of "Get Well Soon" balloons and smileys with band-aids followed us to the family room. They sent them for his surgery. What a sweet gesture and surprise for my sweet ELEVEN month old (today) boy! There's a lot of pics here to just be balloons, but I can't help cracking up at him with them. He's had a BLAST.

At first, he wasn't sure what to think. Then he realized that he could pull the strings and the balloons would bounce off of each other and HIM and make lots of noise.

So cute

This is what it looks like most of the time.

A Walk in the Park

The weather was so gorgeous today that I had to get the kids out of the house. The playground part of the park is closed on Tuesdays, but I thought it would be a perfect day to walk around the lake a few times. Sage wasn't really set on going to the park without being able to play on the playground, but she changed her mind and had a great time. Also, we had a milestone that occurred. Jaggar rode in his stroller the ENTIRE time having a blast talking to all of the ducks that we passed. I'll definitely keep this in mind on sunny, spring days to come.

This is a neat bridge on the walk. It's covered in spray paint, but that adds to it, I think. I thought we wouldn't be able to go over it with the stroller, but I was wrong. The bumps added more to Jaggar's conversation as he liked how his voice sounded going over them. Sage had to look at the water underneath us.
Here it is, folks: proof! He is happy in the stroller.

They love each other.
Trying to give her a kiss...or bite her. Definitely one of the two, if not both.
Is she getting big or what??

Ducks in the background
Again, I had to practically bribe her to stand here because she thought they were going to attack her.

***Travis was impressed with these pictures that were all taken by ME. (APPLAUSE)

A Day at the Museum

Sage is on spring break this week, so I wanted to do something different and fun with her. We've been to Birmingham A LOT lately due to Jaggar's ENT being there, so I really didn't want to drive an hour there. We have to time things just right because if I've wasted a good baby mood on the drive to where we are going, we might not have such a good time once we are there.

Then I remembered that our very own town of Anniston has a pretty nice museum. Remember? The last time that we went was the day that I was to be induced to have Jaggar. Sage remembered it and was thrilled when I told her that we were going. She said, "Jaggar! Are you ready to go and see some animals that are dead?!" hahaha. We really had a great time, and I was able to focus a little more on the exhibits this time around since I wasn't worried about giving birth later. haha.

This was on the way in. This will be the ONLY picture that you see of Jaggar in his stroller. He still thinks he's a newborn and likes the sling.
Check out that dinosaur in the background. For some reason, Sage was intimidated to go more than 2 steps ahead of me. I don't know if it was the dim lighting or what, but she acted like something was going to jump out at her. I could barely get her to stand on the step to take this.
This was in the cave part of the museum. I LOVED this part. It's got a little waterfall and "pond" in it, but I couldn't get her to get out of the stroller to take a pic. So I just pushed it over next to it.
This was her favorite part: the kids' part, as she called it. It was fun. She's building a leaf puzzle here.
Cleaning the fossils

Trying to recreate this. Seems like just yesterday! And no, I didn't intentionally cut the head off of the bear in the picture. She did NOT want to get close to it.
Just in case you wondered where Mr. Cruiz was, here's a picture. Thank you, pollen, for the runny noses and headaches (me). The pollen is gross here.
This was right outside, and I asked a lady to take one of the three of us. Isn't the scenery gorgeous? Looks like a postcard! Look at the pretty fish in the water! And doesn't Jaggar look comfy? The question I always get asked is, "Is that comfortable?" And I reply, "It was 6 months ago." I'm thinking he may go to school this way if I let him.
So pretty
What a fun day!
