On Saturday, Sage had been invited to a birthday party at a beautiful farm where there was horseback riding, a hayride, and fishing. The girl is a lot older than Sage, but I'm friends with her mom. We took Sage more for the experience and fun than the social part, of course. However, one of Sage's favorite people, Amber (she's 3), was there so she DID have a friend. The location was gorgeous, and the weather matched.
On the hayride with Daddy. Aren't her sunglasses great?
Okay, I didn't see this, and had I not, I wouldn't have believed Travis. He came back from the hayride talking about these "HUGE catfish" that were "getting out of the water and coming onto the land" because the kids got to feed them. Sage was just talking about getting to feed them. I thought, "Surely he's exaggerating. Fish don't get out of the water." The proof is in the pictures though.
Isn't that weird? And gross! I think catfish are so ugly.
More of the hayride.
Horseback riding was actually the first thing they were doing when we arrived at the party. Sage was extremely tired from not having a nap but more SHY, so she refused to ride. The instructors and all the other kids were going to let her go ahead, but she would NOT do it. While Victoria was opening her presents, Amber and Kaci had not ridden, so they brought the horse back out for them. Well, once Sage saw that AMBER did it, she did too.
Next was fishing, which honestly was lame. After seeing those huge catfish, they took us to this pond where I'm convinced there was either only ONE fish or the rest were all asleep. The only reason I believe in the one fish was because that is all that 1 kid out of the 15 kids caught, and it was POSSIBLY, MAYBE 2 inches? Plus, they made the kids partner up because they didn't have enough rods. For Sage, this was her favorite part because she got to be partners with AMBER. Neither one of them could have cared less if they caught a fish because they were getting to play around mud and water.
Aren't they cute?
Daddy and Sage fishing.
This may have been when all the kids gathered around to see the one fish. Or maybe they were looking at the worms, which were probably more exciting.
Fish or no fish, they had a blast.
