Happy Birthday, Mom
Today is my Mom's birthday, and we were lucky enough to still have her company. It was a really fun day. Sage had school, so as I was taking her, I asked what she'd like to get Nonni. She answered this question the same every time: "I want to get her cookies and candy, so we can share." It's funny because she is very specific about her gifts. So, of course, that's what I got: cookies and candy. I took her to lunch at Classic on Noble, and as usual, it was yummy. I EVEN got her to try some of my sushi, which she wasn't aware of until AFTER she took a bite. (She's always refused to try sushi.) She could not deny the fantastic taste.
Travis had secretly ordered her a pound cake with cream cheese icing and chocolate ganache poured on top yesterday. After lunch today, I told her we'd go to Just Desserts to see if they had anything, and she was so confused when I had a cake ready for me. We got Sage from school, and after she woke up a bit from her interrupted nap, she gave Nonni her gift. The pictures are so cute. Happy Birthday, Mom!
Me and Mom at Classic. (I don't know why I have that expression on my face.)
Sage just giving Nonni her gift bag.
SURPRISE! (She'd been wondering all day what Sage had been so specific about, and now the reason was very clear.)
"We can share it."
