I was chatting with someone today, and they made the comment that they felt "disconnected." Without thinking, I said, "I always feel disconnected." I wasn't sad about it. I wasn't pitying myself. Actually, I'm perfectly okay with it. Granted, I do have friends, but due to something called "life," we're not running around together everyday. This is true of everyone, I know. I enjoy my own company more than anyone else. I'm quite sure of this. I think I can finally say that I'm at a point in my life where I'm okay with me: take it or leave it. And as far as friendships go, if I'm having to "work" at it like a marriage or a disagreement with a family member on a regular basis, then it's no good. I'm not doing it. Friendships should require time and effort, but I'm not going to wonder all the time if I hurt them or what I did to make them mad. Please.
Another peeve: myspace, facebook...internet in general. Blogs even. I'm usually (especially on myspace) very light, easygoing, whatever. I put "lonely" as my mood one day, and someone said it was "uncharacteristic" of me because I was always so happy. I don't nor will I ever bare my deepest issues on myspace or a blog. If you need to know, I'll let you know. If you'd like my personal opinion, here are things that people don't need to know via blog.
- marital spats (do I really need to explain this? come on, keep it between you two or a therapist. I put this here because I've SEEN this in blogs.)
- financial issues (No one cares! It is tacky too. Enough said.)
- pet peeves of your family that go beyond humor (if it makes your spouse or children look bad, don't say it. We all know that husbands {NEVER WIVES} and children can get on our nerves. Don't shed your family in a bad light, especially children.)
That's just my opinion though. The thing about blogs are that you can write whatever
you want. This blog sounds slightly mean and cynical, but it's totally not intended or written with that intent. I guess if anything is disconnected, it's this blog. Ha. Holla!

You preach it sista! I just got through talking to Karl about putting business out on myspace and blogs! It makes no sense at all! Its embrassing to the writer and the family. I have a friend that does it on a daily base and its not good. I am embrassed for them.
