34 Weeks (8 months)

I am 6 weeks out now! How that is possible, I have no idea, but it is true. I have one more 2 week appointment, and then it's every week until baby time. Dr Collins asked me on Thursday, "So what are you, 27 weeks now?" I said, "What?! No, 34!" He laughed and said, "Yup, tomorrow. You measure 27 weeks. You're tiny, and you're just always going to be tiny." Ahh, more flattery. Did I mention I like that?

He said he could induce at 39 weeks, and I will be taking that ticket most definitely. Not that I'm not enjoying it, but that is just time. I'm starting to get uncomfortable. I get heartburn from everything, even water. I eat tums more than food. I get full after a few bites...which isn't so bad, but it's followed by heartburn. I want to do a backbend at times to get the foot or booty or whatever it is that won't budge from my sternum, but it's all good. And pretty soon, that all will be gone...and it will be sad.

Anyway, I have a much more exciting post to put up, but it requires more organization than this. (My shower was yesterday!) These are just a few pictures of the room that is starting to come together.
Aren't those pictures great? I just love them. Chrissie had bought them for a playroom, but the colors coordinated perfectly with his bedding, so she generously gave them up.

Here's some alphabet soup for you. Maybe there's a name in there? Oh, the name we had? Gone. Wasn't feeling it after a while. We've got another that suits us more, and we ALL agree on it (even Sage...I wanted her to be a part). For some reason I was so concerned what everyone would THINK. And I just woke up one morning going, "Since WHEN do I do that?! I wear PURPLE, GREEN, and PINK eyeshadow, 30 bracelets, patent leather, and SEQUINS on a normal day of the week." I'm never going to name my kid Jack or Emma. No offense to the lovers of those names. They're very sweet. But they're not us....sooo, we have a name for REAL. Done and done. We can't wait to meet him.

Easter Basket Surprise from the Bunny

For us, the easter bunny isn't as big as Santa but something happened earlier this year that was a milestone with Sage. She and I were at the mall one day eating lunch, and the Easter bunny was there in the food court. Before we'd even gotten to the food court, Sage said, "I want to see the Easter bunny." I was just kind of like, "Sure you do (in my head)," but she kept on and on. I said, ''Ok, after I eat, I'll take you to see him,'' the whole time thinking she'd not even look at him when we got to him. There were no other kids around him, and when we got there, he waved to her. SHE WAVED BACK. This is huge. I said, "Do you want to go see him?" She kind of shook her head, but she whispered, "I want to give him a hug." The amazing thing is, she walked over and did it. I was shocked. I made a huge deal out of it. Then when we were walking away, she said, "I want to see Santa again." So maybe this year, it won't be all FOUR of us in the picture, but hey, I kind of like that.

Anyway, the bunny came on Saturday morning for us because Sunday was so rushed. There are a lot of pictures, but she was so excited that I had to post them all. You can totally see it in her face.

Look at that face

She had a light up duck similar to this that went out, and she's never gotten over it. THANKFULLY, a new one was waiting for her that morning. She was excited.
She loves peeps, obviously.

She is cute

I thought these deserved their own post.

My favorite. Beautiful.

Egg Hunt at Grandmother's

Travis's sister, Denise, and her family were in town for the weekend from North Carolina. We hadn't seen them since they were in town last July. Sage still talks about when they were here then all of the time, so she was excited that they were back. They dyed eggs on Friday night, and we came over Saturday for lunch and an egg hunt. Sage was shy at first, but then she was off with the girls. Here's some pics from the day.

Then they hid them again on their own and had many more egg hunts.

Coloring Eggs!

We had a really long day with Sage's cousins, but that didn't stop the engergizer bunny from wanting to dye the eggs we'd bought for her to do. She was so excited, and she actually did pretty good on her own with it. Sidenote: for easter egg coloring to be "for kids," that dye is no joke! It STAINS. That was enough to make me a little crazy, but I think you can see she had fun.I take it pretty seriously.

The kit comes with a wax crayon that you can write on the eggs to have this effect. One of my friends (who I won't name names) didn't realize you wrote on the eggs BEFORE you dyed them. hahaha. Anyway, I made one for Sage and the baby. Yeah, it says "no name." I did. I do. I have. I've had second thoughts about the name. I think I have another, but I'm not sure yet.
I love her expression.

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, I had to be at church at 7:30 am, so I asked Travis to take some pictures after Sage was ready. The first one was the 'best' of the worst out of that bunch. She was apparently not in the mood for pictures. After church, we had lunch and Travis hid the eggs we dyed the night before for Sage to find. She loved that, but not as much as swinging. It was a beautiful day--one of the many testimonies that our Savior is alive and well. She had to put the basket on her head.
Finding eggs
and more importantly, swinging

Not So Little Girl

I am ashamed to say the last time that I had Sage's pictures made. But honestly we have such a nice camera and Travis takes such beautiful pictures that it hasn't been like we're not snapping away all the time. Anyway, when they told me that school pictures were the next day, I was kind of like whatever. Partly because Sage NEVER smiles for strangers, and partly because I figured they'd be cheesy. When I went to pick her up that day, they made such a big deal about how she smiled for each picture. I could tell she was pleased with herself. When I got the pictures back, I was thrilled at her efforts and loved the pictures. I think they are adorable. I got the first one below and the close-up of her face.

This one is her favorite because of the flower. She loves flowers. When I was putting this in a frame, I replaced a 10 month picture of her. It was unreal to see how BIG she's gotten...and even more sad at how fast it's gone by.These were just the proofs, but it showed each pose and I thought it was cute.

Who is this girl?

Sage's dance recital is fast approaching, and pictures were just 2 weeks ago. I barely recognized her in these. Actually when they were letting me choose on the screen which ones I wanted, they asked me if she was mine, and I said, "No...oh wait...yes! she's mine." She is pretty proud of these. I think she's adorable.

Tap close-upThey are dancing to "Under the Sea'' from "The Little Mermaid," so these are "mermaid costumes."
Group tap picture. Um, can you find miss priss? (sorry about the scan. our scanner is a better printer than scanner obviously.)
Ballet. Unfortunately, they chose costumes for her 2 classes that were EXACTLY the same color, but it's still adorable. They are early birds, and the routine is going to be adorable. I've heard them singing. This is her favorite because she loves the feathers.
