It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, it's one of them for me: pumpkin carving time! We are cutting it close, but it's been so hot this year, I was afraid the pumpkins would rot before Halloween! Sage was so excited because she's been asking to carve them...well, since Friday night when I got them. I know, I know, for someone that loves fall so much, I've slacked off big time. Anyway, here's a ton of photos.
Excited (to be on the table really)
I absolutely love this picture. It's so typical. Look at Sage's crying face. Then look at Jaggar's face of meanness. I laugh every time.
In the meantime, while Travis drew on the pumpkin to carve it, I was doing more important things like....
Getting ready...
It's our favorite part. I don't know why, but I've always loved the inside of a pumpkin. Sage does too.
Note to self: Take off bracelets and jewelry BEFORE you clean out a pumpkin.
She gets it honestly really.
Yum (This was the first year in several that I didn't roast the seeds.)
Then we called Bubs up there, and the strangest thing happened. The messiest of all the messy was UNSURE.
He'd take a look, and we even put his hand in it, but he was not sold. Truly, shocking.
He just kept saying, "Ball! Ball! Ball!" and given the chance, he'd throw it.
He loves his daddy.
Sage couldn't stay out of the seeds and gunk. Why is it that one of my children is always ON the table instead of AT it?
Getting it just right
The finished product!
Apparently, we are on holy ground since our scarecrow behind us is lying prostrate.
Travis and Jaggar have the same expression.
