Hang on! Because this is one "heckuva" post. ;) Christmas MORNING had finally arrived. We'd given Sage instruction the night before, "If you wake up, and it's still dark, do not call us." Of course, we meant like 3 am dark, but to our surprise, she didn't wake up until a pretty normal time (for her)--7 ish.
The first thing she said when she was getting ready to go downstairs was, "I sure hope that bubblegum machine is down there." Let me explain that here. For weeks, all Sage asked for was a bubblegum machine. At least, that's what she CONSISTENTLY asked for. She'd throw any and everything on the list, but that always made it.
So, after Thanksgiving, she happened to see a picture of a Hello Kitty gum machine in the target BLACK FRIDAY ad and said, "OH, I want THAT ONE." She even wrote "Hello Kitty Bubblegum Machine" in her letter to Santa and told the audience that's what she wanted at her Christmas program. Unfortunately, Target sold out of those lightning fast on Friday. So it was totally up to Santa if she got it or not. Since Jaggar is so small, we decided not to wake him up...so here she goes. It's a little blurry because Travis was doing video and pictures. And HERE is what she walked in to see! I think it really overwhelmed her because she immediately said, "Look what Bubby got." Santa did ask her if she liked surprises, and boy did he come through. I don't see a bubblegum machine in there. And that's what she said when she started to look through presents, "It's got to be like this!" (and she'd motion with her hands the shape of it.) We said, "Well maybe it's in pieces." She even opened bubblegum machine refills...but no gum machine.
A baby for her babies
We still love Rudolph.
Santa even filled the dogs' stockings. Go figure.
I just watched this with her since she got it, and it is so sweet. I'd recommend it.
Stocking was full.
And then MISTER woke up. He got a jumperoo, in case you couldn't see that in the pics. It could have been a hit or miss, since he's crawling now. It was definitely a hit. He comes off the ground because he jumps so hard in it. It is hysterical.
Rudolph ornament: she's starting her collection for when she gets married, she says.
Look at this face.
Trying to hold his loot...and paper.
Her snuggie. She had asked for this a lot too. I will say that while Travis went to get Jaggar, we took a present break. She had a lot to open. So she goes, "I wonder if the bubblegum machine is in the tent." No such luck. :(
She got a "big girl" dollhouse.
And house shoes.
Her twins: Max and Meredith (which turns into Blaire sometimes)
Hugging Rudolph
"What IS this thing?"
I do confess that I love Taylor Swift. And Sage insisted that we wear bows.
All of us.
Helping Jaggar
Her Snuggie. Of course, Sage being SAGE, she wears it with the open part in the front. I'm so not surprised.
Look at those eyes. You can tell he liked it because he is IN it.
All presents were opened. Castle tent, Dollhouse, tons of sets for it, candy, babies, baby bed, squeaky toys, books, movies....but, sigh...no bubblegum machine. Sage never said a word though. We asked her if she had a good Christmas. She said, "Yes." I sat on the couch. Then I spotted something in the corner wrapped in more paper that wasn't mine. "Sage, what's this?" She said, "Oh it's something from our Christmas party." I said, "No, we opened all of those last night." So she came over, ripped off the paper, AND.....TAH DAH! BEHOLD!!! The HELLO KITTY BUBBLEGUM MACHINE! She was thrilled! That Santa is tricky!
So cute
And all of us. All FOUR of us. Weird to think that last year there were only three. Oh what a year can bring.
And here is Clark Griswold (as I called him for 2 days) outside burning all of the trash. You all may have thought I was kidding when I wrote that on fb. Merry Christmas!
