We made it through Sage's recital on Saturday! Wow, WHAT a lot of work! They weren't allowed to be in costume in the auditorium, and the dressing area was down a flight and a half of stairs. Since a lot of unclothed girls were everywhere down there, men were not allowed. That left me to go downstairs, change her, make sure she got to the stage okay, run back up, watch the dance, run back down, change her back into her dress, bring her back up to watch, go back down a few numbers before her next routine, change her, make sure she got to the stage okay, run back up to watch, run back down to get her and change her back into her clothes, go back up to watch the rest of the show. Now, NORMALLY this wouldn't be AS bad as it sounds if I wasn't 2 weeks from having a baby. SO, I was a little tired, but she did so great in each number that I wouldn't have had it any other way. She was so awesome. We were so proud of her.
Another BIG thing for her was that she had perfect attendance this year. This meant she got a trophy with a ballerina on top. This was no easy achievement since we've gone since August, but to see her excitement over that made it more than worth it. She even told me the night before, "I couldn't go to sleep last night thinking about my trophy." Her little face while she was waiting on the stage for them to call her name was just precious. I am very, very proud of her.
In the car waiting while I was picking up her flowers. When I had fixed her hair and makeup, she said, "Do you know what I look like?" I said, "You look like a dancer!" She said, "No. I look like a ROCKSTAR!" haha. so true.
Before their under the sea dance. Sage, Lydia, Griffyn and Cailen. They're stair steps, aren't they?
See her in the polka dot dress? I don't think she thought they'd EVER call her name.
I think this was right when they called her. She was so excited.
Ms Tracey pointing out the flowers to her.
Look at her face.
Waiting for all awards to be passed out. I felt like I deserved a trophy after this day. We were there from 2-6 pm.
She was very very proud.
Grandparents. Not sure where they were looking or if they were aware a pic was being taken.
