Tap Routine

Just a few numbers (5 to be exact) after Sage's ballet routine was her tap routine. This was cutting it very close to make sure all of the girls that were in ballet had time to change. Miraculously, they did make it and did an awesome job. Their tap routine was to "Dancin' in the Streets," and it was super cute. Here's some pictures from dress rehearsal.

she was front and center. That's MY child!

Then they tapped off the stage! On actual performance night, she kept saying, "When do I get to get on that stage?" and as soon as she was finished, she said, "I want to do it again!" More pictures to come from recital night with family, friends and her beloved trophy and flowers.

Sage's Ballet Routine

Let the recital pictures begin! Photography is prohibited at the actual recital, so this is dress rehearsal, which takes place the night before. This was Sage's ballet routine, which was to "Under the Big Top." I'd never heard it, but it repeatedly says, "Under the Big top if you want to be a clown..." so naturally, their costumes resembled clowns. I have heard ALL year from Sage how they "get to use a parachute." I thought that it turned out so cute, and it really amazed me each time as they each took turns running under it that no one got stuck or lost track of where they were going.

Travis took these and edited them, and I think they turned out beautifully. I do need to point out that, again, this was dress rehearsal. She is VERY serious about dancing, so she has "this face" that looks like she's not having fun. I know this child. And she was like pursing her lips together to NOT smile because this was no joke to her. On actual RECITAL night....I only WISH there had been cameras allowed. She was smiling from ear to ear because our entire family and everyone else's was WATCHING, and she thrived on that. So cute. They did a great job!

Ending pose. They had to do it twice at rehearsal, but the actual performance was pretty flawless. They were all SO cute, and of course, we were all very proud of Sage.

Mother's Day post #1

I win the award for blog slacker, but we've had the busiest weekend. As usual, Sage's dance recital was on Mother's Day weekend, and I have a LOT of pictures to sort through from that. So I thought I'd post a little about Mother's Day. This is the first year that my mom has been here for Mother's Day...like ever, I think. She came for Sage's recital and a certain someone's impending birthday, so we just lucked out that she'd be here on Mother's Day, too. I've known what I wanted to get her for a while. I went and made my purchase on Saturday (recital day) and decided to go ahead and give it to her, since Sunday is a whirlwind with church.

I came back with it wrapped, and she knew that couldn't have been done by me. Very true. I'm a gift bag kind of girl.

Sage, as usual, was trying to help. Jaggar was helping daddy.

I HATE that this picture is blurry, but I couldn't NOT post it. I got her a Pandora bracelet and bead to start her off. It was the perfect idea because she was obviously thrilled.

And 3 days later, she has gone back to Couch's and filled a good chunk of it up. She said that she hasn't had that much fun in a long time. They ARE fun, and if you don't have a pandora bracelet, you should get one. OR buy one for someone you love. They'll be glad you did. Okay, I'm done pushing. The purple bead in the center with the hearts is the original one that I got.

And even though she's MY mom, she bought me things, too, but that's just because she's giving all the time. I saw these watches at Belk the other day and loved them. Toy Watches. Never heard of them because they're relatively new (I later found out), but I LOVED them, particularly the pink one. Apparently, in the movie, "The Blind Side," Sandra Bullock wore one and their popularity rose immensely. I've never even seen that movie, but I just LOVED the watch. She got me this and a new coach purse. Thank you, Mom! And I will continue working on updating this blog with recital pictures and more Mother's Day pictures.

Being Pampered

Months ago, I told Sage about something that every girl loves: a pedicure. I told her that the place in the mall actually has chairs for kids and that I'd take her there one day. Well, Travis works a lot, and there was no way that I could take Jaggar in there, too, so it just got pushed to the side. Sage would ask pretty regularly about going, but the timing was just never good. This past Saturday, she'd said something about it and I decided that that day was going to be her day. Travis was home, and we were going for it. She, of course, loved it and has been very careful with her toes ever since. :)

They also put lotion on her legs that "made them SO soft," she said.

Sweet

This guy was so nice, and he even asked if he could paint a flower on her toes just because.

So cute! This wasn't even the finished product because he put a glittery dot inside the flower and a leaf beside it. She is VERY proud of these.

Open House

On Tuesday night, Sage's school had their spring open house. What was so special about this is that the week before spring break, they had moved into their brand new building (built right behind the one they were in), and this was the first time that we were able to see the inside. Sage had been talking about it nonstop, and her bragging was up to par for sure. It was gorgeous. I am so happy that she gets to spend the maximum amount of time in this beautiful school. Here she is under the "O" on the stage in the cafeteria. Yes, she has been ecstatic that the cafeteria has a stage. Their principal makes announcements there each morning, and no kids are allowed up there. So, of course, on this night, EVERY child was up there instantly, including mine. :)

In the Midst of the Storm

Alabama is being hit with some very serious storms and tornadoes as I type this, so Jaggar is up a little later than normal in the event that we need to take shelter. Every time that the siren goes off, Jaggar freaks out. He HATES loud noises. Each time that they go off, he runs to Sage for her to hold him. I think it is the most precious thing I've ever seen! Makes me want to cry! haha.

Isn't that so sweet? And this like makes her year, too. She LOVES to be the mommy. :)

Now that the storms are over, I can update that this was one of the worst storms in many years for Alabama. Personally, I think this was the first "tornado warning" I've been in here since I've lived here. The death count is up to 53 statewide, and that number will be higher tomorrow. We are so thankful for God's divine protection on us and our family, and our thoughts and prayers are with those that suffered great losses.

Bye bye, Bunny

On Saturday, the day before Easter, we took a trip to the mall so that the kids could have one last visit with their beloved Easter Bunny. They were obsessed with him this year! I thought that I got a pretty cute picture of them with him.
