My Little Cheerleader

This year for Halloween, Sage decided she wanted to be a cheerleader. She made this decision last Christmas, no kidding. My mom got her a Barbie cheerleader outfit, complete with pom poms, as a gift at Christmas last year. The moment she opened it, she said, "I'm going to be a cheerleader for Halloween!" At the time I was like, "Okay!" thinking there's no way she'll want to by the time Halloween rolls around. Well, ten months later, Sage STILL wanted to be a cheerleader. I think she is the cutest cheerleader I've ever seen! This was Friday, the day of her school Halloween party. It was a beautiful day, so she didn't even have to wear a jacket, which is a lot more than we can say about the day of Halloween, which was a LOT colder.

Rock Star

If we're facebook friends, you've seen a rough copy of this from my phone, but that picture didn't do Jaggar's hair justice. One morning last week, he woke up with his hair just like this. It was awesome, and he looked just like a little rock star. These are some of my favorite pictures of him.

He's just so cute.

My Birthday

The morning of my birthday, Sage could not WAIT to give me my presents. She had exactly in her mind what she wanted to get me. She is VERY particular about what she chooses for others. I saw her thought in each one that I opened. She chose 3 plants: basil, purple flowers, and pink flowers because pink is my favorite. Then she got me gloves because "I didn't have any," she said. And of course, they are pink. Not only are they pink, but they are GARDENING gloves. If you know me, you know what a big gardener I am. Ha. She informed me today, "Mommy, if you don't put those gloves on and work outside, I'm taking them back." haha!

She also chose a fake yellow flower that's in a vase now in my foyer. The last thing I opened was a pack of mechanical "The Office" pencils. She was so excited and said, "MOMMY! You love The Office!" And it's true. Travis said that she saw the one pack Target had buried in the midst of other things and said, "Oh we've GOT to get that! Mommy loves that show." Such a sweet girl.Look how excited she is.
That necklace is from Jaggar and Travis, and it came as a set with 2 bangles. It's called teething bling and is made from the same material as safe teething toys are for babies. If you've ever seen how babies tug at jewelry and chew on it, you know how perfect this is. Jaggar does love it too.

My parents were here for my birthday and got to stay through Halloween. I think this was during "Happy Birthday," but I guess I didn't upload the picture of me blowing out the candles. Oh well, next year! ;)

New Trick

The day Jaggar turned 5 months old, he worked his very hardest and rolled over from his back onto his stomach for the first time. It took him about 20 minutes of trying, but he managed to finally get all the way over. Within a week, he was rolling from his back to his stomach and back again like an old pro. So proud of my big boy.

Pumpkin Carving

I know I'm WAY behind on this, but I'm doing the best I can with one free hand. :) The week before Halloween, we did our annual tradition of carving pumpkins and baking the seeds. The seeds turned out great this year too, and we think our pumpkin did too. We had, in total, about 6 or 7 smaller pumpkins, but we only carved the largest one due to the fact that we learned the hard way how they decay and collapse in warmer weather after being carved.

I know it's weird, and I've probably said it on previous Halloween/pumpkin posts, but I LOVE the smell of the inside of a fresh pumpkin. I think I've passed that on to Sage because she loved it too.I love cleaning the "guts" out of pumpkins too. I don't know what's wrong with me, but my daughter has apparently inherited this trait too.
Yum.

The finished product.
I do the cleaning; Daddy does the carving. We all make a good team.

Thanks for Sharing!

Since Holland is a big girl now, she has let Jaggar use a toy that she's way too mature for these days. :) Right now, the toys make Jaggar angry because he can't get them in his mouth, but we're going to keep trying! He sure is cute. He turned 5 months old yesterday and weighed 15lbs even. He also has a new trick, but I'll try to take some pictures and post that by itself.

Mr Cool

I think that he looks like he could be some kind of blues singer in this hat! haha.

A Not So Typical Sunday

I say that because Sunday mornings normally consist of me getting up at 6 am, frantically trying to get ready, then leaving late while leaving something at home that I needed. This morning was peaceful though. Sage was excited to wear a fall dress, so she woke up in a great mood. Jaggar ALWAYS wakes up in a great mood. So before I had to leave, I asked Travis to take a few pics. I know I'm partial, but don't I have the cutest kids?

Bath Baby

Best Friends

I'm not sure which of these two is crazier about the other. I'm so thankful for that!

Our's, Mine, His

This past Saturday, Sage had spent the night at Travis's mom's, so I slept until 8:20--the latest in I don't even know when! When I was getting ready, I peeked in at Jaggar, who I expected to be up in 20 seconds after I woke up. He surprised me though and slept quite a bit longer, and I just thought it was cute. I know this sure doesn't look like his CRIB. He starts out there, but magically is in our...my...HIS other bed at some point in the early morning hours.
Look at those cheeks.
And THEN he was awake. He is so happy when he wakes up. It's like he's thrilled that we are still here each day.

Feet are a nice treat

If he can't get his foot in his hand, at least, he's unhappy. If he can get one in his mouth, life is pretty great. Jaggar is growing so quickly. He had his 4 month check-up this past week, which is 2 weeks past 4 months. He weighed 14lbs, 7 oz (50th percentile) and was 25 1/2 inches long (80th percentile). The dr said that he was just growing beautifully, and Jaggar returned the compliment with coos and squeals. Unfortunately, he had to get 2 shots, and Sage cried FOR him before they came in to give them. She's such a good big sister. After a mere 2 1/2 hours there, we all survived.
