Happy New Year

It is 2009 already! That is almost scary, but it's very exciting. I don't have anything revolutionary to say, but Travis is out of town for 6 nights...yes, SIX. It's a good thing, the tv shoot he's doing. We're thankful for it, but I do NOT do well alone without any adult conversation with one child and 2 dogs. The child is great. The dogs...not so much. Sorry puppy lovers. They're just not for me. They're sweet and all, but they drive me nuts. It's just work that I don't feel is worth the effort. If you don't have kids, knock yourself out. If you do, and you still want to put in that work, well you and I are just very different. Oh well...

I am proud to say that in a little less than a year (because I started a few weeks into the year), I read my bible entirely through for the 2nd time in my life. I am pretty proud of that too, and I've already started over again to do the same this year. This is light years from where I was this time last year, so it's pretty amazing. If you haven't done this before, DO IT. It takes 15 minutes at the most from your day, but it will change your life.

The next big thing on our list is Sage's birthday. She will be FOUR, which is so sad to me. I mean, not really, I'm very proud of her, but I'm sad at how fast she is growing up. She is also more specific on what she wants this year and has requested a pool party. Unfortunately, it's just not that fun to swim in January, so we're renting the Y. She asks me everyday when her party is, so needless to say, she is very excited. It is 2 weeks from today, but I feel that as many times as she's asked me how much longer it is, that it should be closer than that. I love to see her so excited. What is so great is that it really doesn't take that much to excite her. She is so awesome.

I am 19 weeks pregnant today, which is 4 1/2 months (I think) and a week shy of the halfway mark. It is FLYING by, and baby is making its presence known with some undeniable kicks on a daily basis. You can even feel and SEE them from the outside now, which is how strong they are. Sage felt them for the first time today, and she thought that was pretty great . This baby already moves so much more than Sage did.

I go for my next appointment a week from Tuesday for the "big" ultrasound. Even though I'm 99% sure it's a boy, something won't let me say "he" until then...I guess superstition, I don't know. I am shopping in the baby boy section now, and though it's been painful at times (you have to do a bit more searching to find the cool stuff), I am thrilled to be able to do it again regardless. We MAY even have a name...but that's on the DL. You just might be surprised. :) Happy New Year. Sorry for the randomness. Maybe someone else is as bored as I am.
